Inuit are set to acknowledge the global awards honouring the environmental perform of ICC Chair Sheila Watt-Cloutier right now. In the course of a supper hosted by Nunavut Tunngavik Integrated in Iqaluit, Nunavut,Office Home And Student 2010, Inuit leaders will honour Sheila Watt-Cloutier. Nunavut Tunngavik Inc. President Paul Kaludjak and Inuit Tapiriit Kanatami President Jose Kusugak will the two be existing.
“Sheila Watt-Cloutier is a highly effective spokesperson for the Arctic environment. She does an excellent job in helping warn the world about the devastating effects of climate change and how this may impact future generations of Inuit,” said President Kaludjak.
On Tuesday April 19th, Sheila Watt-Cloutier was honoured by the United National Environment Programme (UNEP) as one of seven “Champions of the Earth”. She received the award at the United Nations headquarters in New York.
On Wednesday April 20th, Sheila Watt-Cloutier was awarded the Sophie environment prize in Oslo,Microsoft Office Professional 2007, Norway. The $100,000 US prize was created in 1997 by Norwegian author Jostein Gaarder and his wife,Office Enterprise 2007, Siri Dannevig. The prize is intended to foster work aimed at improving the environment and sustainable development.
