(CNN) -- A suspicious white substance in an airplane lavatory?

It could be anthrax, could be gunpowder remnant alternatively -- for authorities in California studied Friday -- it could be restroom periodical.

The white dust appeared in the back toilet of Alaska Airline's Flight 508 soon after it took off Friday p.m. from Seattle, said Bobbie Eagan, a spokeswoman as the carrier.
