As New Zealand industries evolve, employers are looking for IT professionals with new and varied skills sets. This conference is significant as it will encourage further collaboration between the tertiary education and commercial sectors to ensure the abilities shortage gap is addressed. “The conference is aiming to ensure that future programmes and courses at MIT match industries need for multi-skilled employees both within NZ and internationally,” says Brett O’Reily, CEO for NZCIT. “Engagement such as this between educators and stakeholders is critical to the development of NZ as a world leading digital economy.” Participants will include representation from; Manukau Institute of Technology, New Zealand Information and Communication Technologies Group Inc (NZICT), New Zealand Computer Society Inc. (NZCS),Office Enterprise 2007, CISCO Systems Inc, Microsoft and Certification private training establishments (PTE’s). “The ICT environment is competitive and fast evolving; developing confident,Microsoft Office 2007 Enterprise, adaptive, employable professionals is paramount for both MIT and New Zealand business at large,” says Mark McNeill, Head of School,Windows 7 Product Key, Computing and IT (SoCIT) at MIT.
