Microsoft Australia announced that the upcoming version of Microsoft Office will include Australian slang as words recognised by its Australian dictionary. According to a press statement released by the software giant, more than 24,000 Australians voted in an online poll for the words considered most relevant to Australians today. G'day came out on top as the most popular Aussie word with 2,Office 2007 Professional Plus Key DIAC Newsroom – Media.html,868 votes. Sickie with 2,152 votes,Genuine Office Standard 2010, ute (1,912), trackies (1,597) and bogan (1,557) rounded out the top five. This means that these favourites and more, like dag, wuss and sheila will not be cursed by the red squiggly underline as spelling errors when they appear in Microsoft's Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook. The new edition of Microsoft Office is due to be released to the public early next year along with Microsoft's next generation operating system, dubbed Microsoft Vista.
