Disney staged a wacky tea party at MAGIC in Vegas yesterday to kick off a season of Alice in Wonderland inspired fashion collaborations leading up to the release of Tim Burton’s film. First up is jewelry by Tom Binns based on the characters of Alice,Cheapest Football Jerseys, the Mad Hatter,converse shoes, the Red Queen,Special Edition Sunglasses, the White queen and the White Rabbit. (You have to get through a couple minutes of corny before you get a little taste of the baubles.)
The collection for Spring 2010 will contain six limited edition pieces priced between $1000-$2000. Binns will also created a lesser priced 35 piece collection for the Mouse House ranging from $100-$500.
“This timeless story of Lewis Caroll married with the wonderful world of Disney and Tim Burton’s interpretation offers so much philosophical fantasy and peculiar surreal imagination,Dior Sunglasses,” explained award winning designer Tom Binns. “It opens up a labyrinth of doors for my particular way of seeing the world,baseball hats, allowing me to express my fashion experience with my interest in art and cinema. Alice is the perfect story to release that creativity and I cannot imagine a better story to cultivate my relationship with Disney.”
Actually,red bull hats, neither could we. We had kind of forgotten about being excited for the movie…until now. Bring on the fairy-tale acid trip.
And there seems to be a children’s tale meets cool director meets jewelry moment happening,fendi sunglasses, right? What with Pamela Love and Spike Jonze’s Where the Wild Things Are collaboration and now this. Whatever could be next?
