Business Fact Sheet: Make It Work For You!
Your business is set up and ready to go. You've got an informative website that suits the type of business you have started. Your brochures and business cards contain the basic information that you need to get into the hands of prospective clients and customers. In the right situation, you've printed flyers that are designed to attract immediate attention. Each one of these---website, brochure, asics revolve le, business card, flyer--- contains vital pieces of information that your clients and customers will need. However, you've probably already figured out that not each of them has exactly the same information, and none of them really say it all. There are other things about your business that you'd like your clients and customers to know---and that's where the Business Fact Sheet comes into play. Business Fact Sheet For your convenience, a blank Business Fact Sheet (BFS) has been provided for you as a free download. It is very simple and that's exactly what a BFS should be. One page, easy-to-read, easy-to-find specific pieces of information, and somewhere for a prospective client or customer to go for all of your contact, availability, and other information for your business. You'll note that the only thing that is "missing" is rates and/or prices. There is some psychology behind not including this information because you might find yourself adjusting rates/prices on a client-by-client basis. Of course, if rates/pricing is a business fact that you want to include, then you should certainly insert that into the BFS. Each of the headings on the BFS are representative of the types of information you can include, but you needn't feel as though you are locked into these headings or this format. This is just something to get you started. If you are going to print this and actually hand it out, then you can be as creative as you like with changing the font, font color and size, and any other page formatting you like. If this is going to be copied into an email, very simple is best. You can also think about making this a page into a link on your website that visitors can click on. Business Name Here Insert your business name, timberland sale, or your name---whatever you are using. You don't need to have a business "name" per se, and it is perfectly acceptable to use just your name (especially if you are providing a professional service such as bookkeeping). Name and Contact Information No need for explanations here. Insert what information is relevant. If you have used your name as your business name at the top, puma women shoes, there is no need to repeat it here. Availability You should give your prospective clients/customers some idea of when you are available. This should be either specific days or the week or hours during which you can be reached. If you have restrictions on your availability, then you should certainly include that (for example, "Not available on Thursdays"). You do not need to explain why you are available on only certain days or certain hours. This is your business, you don't need to justify when you work at it. Services/Products Available Here, you can provide a nice list of the services you have to offer, or the products that you sell. Start with the service or product that is your primary business, and go from there. Special Features/Unique Offerings This your chance to do brag. Maybe you have the "only" service or product that is available in your area. Or you've taken a service or product to another level, and you want your prospective client/customer to understand how or why your business is a stand- out in that business arena. FAQs Frequently Asked Questions. This section can be fairly "fluid" and you can update it as you go along. You should start out by anticipating what a client or customer might ask you, such as "How long will it take you to do it? " or "If I order it today, abercrombie & fitch plaid shirts, when will I get it? " Think about your business and speculate as to what people are most likely to ask. Then as you answer questions, you can begin to construct FAQs that reflect what people are actually asking about. Other Information Use this section for anything that is relevant, pertinent, or just another "brag" about your business. If you have a testimonial from a former client/customer, then you can add that here (just be sure to ask for permission to reprint the message). Business Ad Line If you have any saying or mission statement about your business, put it here. In summary, the Business Fact Sheet should be just that---facts about your business, found all in one place.
