NEW YORK, April 1 (Reuters) - U.S. crude futures prices rose on Friday,starting the second quarter moving above $107 for the first time sinceSeptember 2008 ahead of March jobs report expected to show employment gainsin the United States.
A Reuters poll suggested the U.S. nonfarm payrolls data for March wouldshow a second straight month of solid job growth, adding 190,000 jobs.[ID:nN30121489]
Friday's price strength comes after U.S. crude futures rose more than 2percent to its highest settlement in 2-1/2 years on Thursday inend-of-quarter trading as Libya's conflict and Middle East unrest keptsupply threats in focus and positive U.S. economic data also providedlift.
FUNDAMENTALS
* On the New York Mercantile Exchange, May crude CLK1 rose 42 cents,or 0.4 percent to $107.14 a barrel by 8:13 a.m. EDT (1213 GMT), tradingfrom $106.58 to $107.65.
* Libyan rebels moved heavier weaponry towards the oil town of Bregaand sought to marshal rag-tag units into a more disciplined force to regainmomentum against Muammar Gaddafi's regular army. [ID:nLDE72U2K5]
