Default win 7 home premium 32 bit blog guest-entry-nate-s-

Muller, a SDET <Software Design Engineer in Test> with the Portable Media Center group, just joined Microsoft last week. Welcome, win 7 home premium 32 bit, Nate! left, she asked Nate if he would write about his interview experience. Since we’ve discussed MS interviews on here quite a bit lately, windows 7 home premium 64bit, I asked Nate if he’d write about his first week on the job instead. Nate agreed, and he kept a journal of his experiences. Nate is also sticking around to answer your questions. is Nate ... from Case Western Reserve University, Cleveland, OH with a BS in Computer Engineering. I spent 6 months writing web applications for Enron in Houston, TX before they imploded. I then moved to Boston to work for Philips Medical Systems developing applications for their ultrasound systems. After working for Philips a few years it was time for a change and I applied with Microsoft. The interview day was tough, but everyone at MS was very supportive. I accepted an SDET position with the Portable Media Center group. I chose it because I thought the product was exciting and I hope that the test experience will help me be a better developer. new hire orientation started at 9:00 AM. I arrived early and got a head start on the paperwork. I had already read the most important information by the time orientation started so it was mostly review. The orientation finished around 2:30 and I proceeded to my building. I met my manager and mentor. I unpacked my computer and gave myself a nasty paper cut, no joke, office pro plus key, this one was a gusher! I worked with my mentor until 7 PM when I realized my group is a late crew. got in early again because I wanted to get some time to work before my mentor showed up. I spent more time installing applications and learning my way around. I started trying to find all the intranet sites I had read about yesterday. I was most excited when I got a development system running. I still have a lot to learn. took the bus to work today. There's a maze of buses around Seattle can be daunting, but I dove in head first and it worked fine. I printed out maps of the building finally. As soon as I did that I actually ended up understanding my way around the building. I'd recommend doing it day one. I also took a tour of the pro club...
wow. That's a whole lot of gym. really started getting into the groove today. My mentor was out sick, windows 7 ultimate code, but I didn't feel like I needed his help to get things done. I met with my manager to better understand what he expected from me now that I know what's going on. The weather was beautiful today so I went out for a run at lunch. The lockers were convenient and my run was great. I spent the afternoon meeting with my developer counterpart to understand how I should begin testing his work. took it easy today. The morning I spent playing around with our device to see what it can do. Since it was Friday I went out with some friends for lunch. One of my friends who's a test manager suggested that if anything I should slow things down and not try to dig in too fast. I took his advice and spent most of the afternoon reading more about MS and the resources here. There is really an amazing infrastructure here to support individuals and it's worth the investment to learn about it. it was a great first week. Things will start getting hectic soon, so it was good to have a comfortable ramp up period. My manager hadn't expected me to get anything done in week one, office 2010 Professional sale, but going into week two I will be working towards deadlines.
