Default best headphones Steve Jobs (Steve Jobs) at Stanfor

Steve Jobs (Steve Jobs) at Stanford University 2005 Commencement Speech

I am honored to join you in graduation, Stanford University is the best in the world universities. I never graduated from college. To be honest, this is the life of my college graduation from the day. Today I want to tell you three stories from my life. Not a big deal, just three stories.

The first story is about life connecting the dots.

Reed University of Reading, I dropped out after six months, but then they were mixed as the auditors really left after eighteen months. Why should I drop out?

story I start from the time I was born. My biological mother was a young, unwed college graduate. She decided to put me up for adoption, she felt very strongly that I was adopted by college graduates. So I was born, she has already done all the preparations, I was able to make a lawyer and his wife adopted. But she did not expect, when I was born, the lawyer and his wife suddenly decided they wanted a girl. So my parents (they were on a waiting list) suddenly in the middle of the night received a phone call: My biological mother later found out that my mother had never went to college, my father had never read the high school. She refused to sign the adoption papers. Only a few months later, my parents promised her that I would someday go to college, that time she relented.

in seventeen years, I did go to college. But I chose a very stupid and you almost as expensive as Stanford, the school, my parents still in the blue-collar, they are almost all the savings were being spent on my college tuition. After six months, I could not see the value in it. I do not know what I really want to do, I do not know how college was going to help me find the answer. But here I was spending all my parents had saved their entire life. So I decided to drop out, beats dre, I think this is the right decision. Can not be denied, I was pretty scared, but looking back, that my life is indeed one of the best decisions. I dropped out at the moment, I can finally do not have to read that I could not get the slightest interest in the course of the. Then I can begin to repair the course that seems a bit mean.
but it was not all romantic. I lost my dorm room, so I can only floor in friends room to sleep, I returned coke bottles for the 5 cents, to buy food on Sunday night, I need to walk the seven miles across town to the Hare Krishna temple (Note: under the Brooklyn in New York City), just to eat Shanghao rice - a little better this week, the only meal of rice, and I loved it.

I followed my curiosity and intuition, experience a lot of things since then proved to be invaluable. Let me give you one example:

Reed College at that time offered perhaps the best calligraphy instruction. Throughout the campus every poster, every label on the drawer was beautifully calligraphed. Because I had dropped out, do not take the normal classes, I decided to take this course to learn how to write beautiful calligraphy. I learned a san serif and serif fonts, I learned how to in a different space between letter combinations, as well as how to makes great typography great. It was beautiful, historical, artistically subtle in a way that science can not capture,dr dre studio headphones Eclectic diary of Secretary of re- understanding of Han, and I found it fascinating.

look at these things in my life, seems to have no practical application. But ten years later, when we were designing the first Macintosh computer, it is not to me. I learned when I designed it all into the Mac. It was the first computer with beautiful typography. If I had never dropped out, there will be opportunities to participate in this program I am interested in calligraphy, Mac would not have so many rich fonts, and pleasing font spacing. Because Windows just copied the Mac, so that no personal computer would have copied the Mac, so.

course, when I was in college, but also impossible to former connecting the dots, but when I look back ten years, when all of this, really suddenly see the light of the.

Again, you can not in looking forward to connect the dots; you can only review time will be connecting the dots. So you have to trust that the dots will somehow connect your future together. You have to trust in something: your gut, destiny, life, karma, whatever ...... this approach has never let me down, just let the difference in my life.

My second story is about love and loss.

I was lucky because I found early on my favorite things. Woz and I were in the age of twenty in my parents garage which started Apple. We worked hard, years later, the company since the development of both a garage to over four thousand employees, more than two billion worth of large companies. In the ninth year of its establishment, we have just released the best product, that is Macintosh. I had just turned three years old. In that year, I got fired. How can you be your own fired from a company created it? Ah,beats by dr dre Long time no contact to my students and friends!, as Apple grew we hired a very talented guy and I manage the company together, in the initial years, the company is functioning good. But then our visions of the future began to diverge and eventually we had a falling out. When the quarrel bitterly when the Board of Directors sided with him on the other side. So at ten years old, I was out. And very publicly out. In the thirties, all of my life was gone, and it was devastating.

in the first few months, I really do not know what to do. I felt that I had let the previous generation of entrepreneurs is very disappointed that I had lost the baton to me. I set up HP's David Pack, founder of Intel's Bob Noyce met and tried to apologize. I had to make things really bad. But I slowly began to dawn, I still loved what I did. Of events at Apple had not changed that one bit no. I had been rejected, but I still love what I do. So I decided to start over.

I did not see, but it turned out that getting fired from Apple was the best place I ever do. Because, as a winner of the load being used as an entrepreneur instead of the relaxed feeling of the back, no less sure about everything. It makes me feel so free, into my life the most creative periods.

in the next five years, I started a company named NeXT, another company named Pixar, and then later became my wife and an amazing woman who would. Pixar produced the world's first computer animated feature film - In a remarkable turn in, Apple bought NeXT, I returned to the Apple company. NeXT development of our technology in the today's renaissance Apple played a key role. And I also, and Laurence together created a wonderful family.

I'm pretty sure that if I had not been fired from Apple, this one thing will not happen. The medicine's taste is so bitter, but I guess the patient needed it. Sometimes life will pick up a brick in the head with a quick photo to your look. Do not lose faith. I know the only thing that kept me going was that I did things that I loved. You need to find something you love. The work is so, for your lovers. Your work will occupy a large part of life. You only believe that they are doing is great work, best headphones, love what you do. If you have not found it, then keep looking, do not stop, as long as the heart of the find, when you find that your heart will tell you. Like any great relationship, as the years went by it just gets better. So keep looking until you find it, do not stop!

My third story is about death.

When I was seventeen years old, I read the sentence: words made an impression on me. Since then, the past 33 years, I looked in the mirror every morning and asked myself: days is

Help me make the big choices in life. Because almost everything, including all honor, all pride, all fear of embarrassment or failure, which disappeared in the face of death. I see leaving the truly important things. Sometimes you think you have something to lose, You are already ##########, and you have no reason not to follow your heart.

About a year ago, I was diagnosed with cancer. I'm half past seven did a scan clearly showed a tumor on my pancreas. I did not even know what a pancreas was. The doctors told me this was probably an incurable cancer, I still have three to six months to live in this world. My doctor told me to go home and get my, that was the standard medical procedures on dying patients. That means you will want your kids the next ten years to tell them in just a few months.; It means to make sure everything is arranged, so that your family will be as easy as possible; that means you have to say

I lived with that diagnosis all day, that night I had a biopsy, an endoscope down my throat into it, through my stomach and into my intestines, put a needle into my pancreas and got a few tumor cells. I was sedated, beats by dre Income can not be avoided Gray, but my wife there, and later told me that when doctors viewed the cells under a microscope when they start screaming, because these cells turned out to be a very rare form of pancreatic curable with surgery cancer cells. I had the surgery, I'm fine now.

that is closest to death I, I hope it's the closest one for decades. Having lived from the death of it, I can only than before the death was a useful concept as it is even more certain that to say to you:

no one wants to die, even if people want to go to heaven , it will not go there to die. But death is the end we all share. No one has ever escaped it. Should also be the case. Because death is the single best invention of life. It clears out the old to make way for the new. Right now the new, but someday not too long from now, you will gradually become the old and be cleared away. Sorry to be so dramatic, but it is quite true.

Your time is limited, so do not waste it living someone else. Do not be trapped by dogma, doctor dre headphones, that means you think other people living with the results. Do not let the noise of others opinions drown out your own inner voice. And most importantly, have the courage to follow your heart and intuition - they somehow already know what you want to be, all other things are secondary.

When I was young, there was a book called It is a fellow named Stewart Brand not far from here in Menlo Park editing, he magically poetic as the book into the world. It was the late sixties, before the advent of the personal computer, so it was all made with typewriters, scissors, and polaroid cameras. A bit like a paperback of google, google appear in thirty-five years ago: it was idealistic, and overflowing with neat tools and great notions.
Stewart and his team put out several issues of It was the mid-seventies, I was your age. In the final phase of the back cover of early morning country road photos (if you were so adventurous, you might find yourself on this road), Beneath it were the words: It was their farewell message sent. Stay Foolish.

Thank you very much
