Hi,
Im having issues with getting wireless to detect networks, Ive updated the drivers from windows update and also the manufacturer, but still it just says "no networks detected". Device manager says all is working well.
Laptop is a nc6400 HP,
and wireless is
Any ideas? Same issue with the 6910p model.
There's not a physical switch on the unit that turns the antenna on/off is there?
And was this working previously?
Hi,
Yeah there is a button that turns it on and off, and it works fine, can hear it install the device once it is switched on, yeah was working fine under windows xp.

Under XP did you have the HP Wireless Assistant installed (and didn't install it under 7)?
These laptops have bluetooth as well as wireless, but controlled via the same button on the unit (and somewhat through joint functions) if memory serves. HP's Wireless Assistant will allow you to control both these connections.
I detest HP's Wireless Assistant, and wont install it unless required,
Office Home And Student 2010, and where the hardware plays nice with the OS it's not necessary in my experience. Maybe this is one of those times it will help though.
I'd try first deleting both the wireless and bluetooth (assuming it is there) devices through device manager,
Windows 7 Home Premium X64, shut down, physically switch wireless off, power up,
Microsoft Office 2007 Key, disable both wireless and bluetooth through BIOS,
Cheap Windows 7 Key, go into Windows, allow it a few minutes to tidy up any lose ends of the device removal, reboot, go into BIOS, just enable wireless, reboot, enter windows, physically switch wireless back on, and see if it works after detecting the device and installing drivers etc.
Failing that then I might try HP's wireless assistant (you might need to install the Vista version, not sure if there is a version for 7).
tried but same, issue even updated the drivers to the latest from intel and still no good. What could it be?
looked at the driver and was version 14.1, applied straight from install CD and it works! And they both have the same driver version so isn't the driver in the image, must be a windows update or something. Will investigate further!
