Philly indie Friday music blogging: Dr. Dog again
I've written about Dr. Dog before, which violates a self-imposed FBM rule, but I'm feeling lazy and they're great and they just came out with a new album. And it's good. So.
Last time around I said they sound like "the Beatles meets doo-wop meets blue-eyed soul, played in a dingy garage after a six pack and a joint." That still mostly works for Shame,Office 2007 Ultimate Key, Shame, though they sound slightly less unkempt this time (more kempt,Office Home And Student 2010 Key, as it were). The production's taken up a notch,Office 2010 Download, the songs are more thought out,Office Professional Plus, the sound is more diverse, but it's still unmistakably Dr. Dog.
This song is called "I Only Wear Blue."
