I forgot to yesterday's sad , you can forget , however, are no longer important
Shuihui next intersection waiting for me? he used to live my warm hand , each section of the road with me timberland
2 Despite the fearless colour featured in dresses this season, black remains the sharpest screen for trousers, and there is a good deal of it about for summer. Avoid diagonal pockets on anything other than the most boyish hips.
All the best trousers Martina has sourced are black, a time-honoured method of reserving lines wash. Moreover, despite the truth that I would arise to be a freakishly long-limbed 5'8ish, all are teamed with a lofty pair of Fendi platforms (£405). We quickly establish that crooked pockets should only be tried if one has the hips of a small chap rather than, say, bomb.
To my idea - and, more specifically, on my rear end - trousers are complicated, uneasy, joyless, and awkward. Naturally, my editor's take is that the on makes me the ideal applicant to specimen this season's trend for "the extreme trouser": garments of such arcane weirdness to terrify even the most froth-mouthed fashionista.
Skinny mini flare: see above, but shorter, as shown at Balmain, Balenciaga
3 Edgier trousers have the avail of production the wearer appear youthfully au?courant, so long as one sticks to classic black.
I don't do trousers. Indeed, at 37, I cannot arrange claim to a single pair. Once, when I was forced into jeans for an article, some joker sent circular an email demanding my colleagues retard out the strange phenomenon. Moreover, my panic would appear to be genetic: my niece regards trews as a more stringent punishment than the naughty step.
An impeccable McQueen nightfall suit teams super-slouchy, Forties bandit slacks (£425) with an erect-shouldered Eighties tuxedo (£995) - an can see why tuxes are trouser-phile Kate Moss's jacket of choice. Candy's peak as the extra alert - trouser-cut trousers - proves a howling success in the manner of Seven For All Mankind marine bootcuts (£149) paired with a cropped von Furstenberg jacket (miniscule jackets and voluminous jeans creature a triumphing combo).
The only nightmarish guise we attempt is a Stella McCartney jumpsuit (£945) that proves swearily heavy to get into, cripplingly uncomfortable, and has a tendency to yawn ########ographically almost the lower regions. Naturally, everybody else loves it. That night, I lurk off to a gathering in crooked Donna Karan. "Good God," cries my companion, "you've got legs."
By now I am ready fhardly evermething more ################, and receive it in the form of Dolce and Gabbana elasticated-waisted, evening tracksuit pants (gulp, £700; see right), teamed with a cropped, ruffled jacket (gulp another, £785). The urge to execute Kill Bill-style karate kicks is?mighty, and the crotch crumples into an fearing codpiece while I sit down. And yet,ghd.co.uk, with heels, it's not as heinously unflattering as one might dream. Indeed, its edginess knocks a nice 5 annuals off me.
Best leg forward
It isn't merely me throwing up my hands. Lorraine Candy, air max 2009, editor of Elle and an accomplished trouser-sporter, laments: "I am surrounded by a fashion group wearing loose, low-crotch pants. They are young and very tall so it works brilliantly. For me personally this looser fitting, 'fierce' trouser is a incubus as I am merely 5ft 3in; they look so much baggier on women who are vertically dared."
Peg: half harem pant, half tapered ankle grazer, extensive on the hip then nips in equitable above the ankle
Where once spring might have heralded the mysterious pair of linen slacks,Air Max skyline, now it takes a lexicon (or our glossary - see facing sheet) to distinguish between the gaucho, gangster, stake, crop, thin flare, super-wide leg, marine, pyjama, and drop-crotched harem, zoave, lungi, jodhpur, and dhoti.
BY Hannah Betts |25 March 2009
Lounge: Pucci-style, fluid length in silk jersey for lolling or evening
1 Work those proportions. The extreme trouser will behalf from heels, a concealed platform being the most practical. On the other hand, a cropped jacket diminishes excess volume with wider-legged styles and bestows a waist.
Gaucho/gangster: super-wide leg with spivvy, retro feel
4 Don't discharge the harem pant, especially for evening. Look for clever draping rather than bottom-enlarging colour or shine. Seek out Topshop or Zara for what will prove a one- or two-season marvel, and team with a long blazer or fitted tux.
Harem pant, zoave, chi ceramic flat iron, lungi, jodhphur, dhoti: all editions of the drop crotch - the jodhpur being the most conservative, the dhoti the most adult-nappy-like
The latter are a wearable surrender to the super-wide leg trend, as seen by Louis Vuitton, Phillip Lim, and Sonia Rykiel, and ideal eveningwear so long as one can avert breaking one's cervix. Teamed with a striped Balenciaga tux (£1,450), or a pearl-grey Elie Tahari jacket (£370), the look has the "promenading into a canteen" insouciance Martina is so consummate at miming.
Pyjama: silk or satin day pyjamas in the form of Dolce and Gabbana
"The softer the linen, the better as they will skim and drape approximately the body. However, avoid silk or satin, consist in ... so much shine you may find yourself looking a size larger. And determine you find them long enough - there is nought worse than a cropped harem pant to shrink and widen the leg." If this still fails to convince, then make a grudging?nod to the drop-crotch trend with jodhpur-style trews such as TSE's oyster restricted pants (£225; see right).
Skinny flare: as championed by Kate Moss - long, sleek, but with a kicked out flare at the ankle; moves materials on from too ubiquitous skinny jeans
5 Steer clear of the jumpsuit trend. As Elle's Lorraine Candy remarks: "I have only seen one human in my team wear a jumpsuit, although the high street is filled with them,Air Max 95, so that is an arrow of how effortless it is to wear, that is, not very."
Sailor: super-wide leg with jaunty flare
If Candy is quaking, it is remove that my conversion will require vocational intervention, so I am despatched to see Martina Wagener, Selfridges' private shopping guru. Martina crashes me in with some diehards: straight-legged, Armani wool crepe (£283), marine Burberry weekend wear (£250), and a pair of exquisitely liquid Donna Karan lounge trousers in silk jersey (£414).

Harem pants: It’s your turn to wear the trousers
This has been hailed as the season of the 'extreme trouser'. Sound macabre? Hannah Betts, who avoids even mediocre jeans, tries out the new looks and discovers that they can be surprisingly flattering.
The real revelation, however, namely the dreaded harem pant - the low-slung crotch/clingy limb combo panicked by always menfolk. It corners out that, whether the leg is sufficiently tapered, as in Stella McCartney's cunning take (£395; watch right), they tin be unexpectedly agreeable, despite provoking hurrahs of "Hammer time". Gaia Geddes, executive fashion and jewellery editor of Harper's Bazaar, says: "I have recently succumbed and I have to say they are gorgeous, particularly for a statement chip prefer than an daily look. Topshop have done some dark, sequinned mathematics that look fantastic with a tightly fitted tuxedo and killer black sandals."
