Joan F. Tasca's Drawing and Painting Courses at Dow MuseumEnjoy learning to Paint and Draw in the inspiring atmosphere of the Dow Museum of Historic Houses. Joan holds a B.F.A. with a concentration in painting from the University of Delaware and received Art Education Certification from the University of the Arts in Philadelphia and had attended youth art programs at Moore College of Art and Philadelphia Museum College of Art. Her work is in private collections, and has won awards. Her courses all focus on learning to "see" as an artist and encourage working from actual subjects, whether students explore objective (realism) or non-objective (abstraction, etc.) work. Beginners learn Womens Becky Drifter Dark basics while intermediate/advanced focus on personal style and expressing an idea or concept. You may want to paint or draw or both, and try realism or lean toward abstraction or non-representational art. It is wise to look at genre in art history for realism, such as landscape, portraiture, still-life, history and genre scenes. If you are exploring non-representational art, you should research the appropriate art history period, with instructor help. See Joan's bio at
