Default win 7 home basic upgrade key blog job-boards-our-t

seems as if your bee in our bonnet the past very few days has long been determining a way to get to you through a number of vocation focused net online sites. Gretchen is all about our main career site and a couple days ago I asked you about job boards. Your responses were much appreciated, but not surprising. In fact, win 7 home basic upgrade key, many of the sentiments you feel searching the job boards for a occupation – functionality issues, overwhelming amounts of data to sort due to etc. – are the same way I feel as a corporate recruiter searching these online sites! do use job boards to find candidates, but I limit my use of large job boards like Monster or HotJobs. Some of my peers have had far more success using these webpages, but the reasons I tend avoid large job boards are because: are if you are an active job seeker you have also sent your resume in to our resume database system. I would rather search in our system to find you vs. paying a job board to find you. The search interface on these large job boards is often difficult to use. Just as a candidate has a difficult time trying to find the right job, genuine win 7 32bit key, it is even more difficult to find the right candidate. Search results lists are hard to navigate. It is really hard for me to tell from the resume titles whether or not a person will be a match for my position. There is no ranking of the weight of keywords so the lists come back unsorted. Since large job boards cater to all types of candidates - administrative, marketing, office Pro Plus 2007 code, technical – it is often difficult for me to get to the people I really want. I don’t post jobs on large job boards. Someone asked why Microsoft doesn’t seem to post positions to large job boards. Honestly, we have so many open positions and a profession site that posts all of those jobs so it usually doesn’t make a lot of sense for us to duplicate our posts. Also, when I post a position to one of these web sites I can receive up to 500 responses. This is a lot to look by using and I would rather search for you with limited results returned then sort due to all the resumes I receive from a post. It also makes more sense for me to look at posting positions to more niche webpages that are target towards the community I want – developers, testers, or candidates with specific domain experience like databases, speech technologies etc. This way I have a higher likelihood of getting to the people I want. job boards that I do use are largely niche/targeted job boards that are specific to the domain for which I recruit. One of the boards that I have had the most success with so far is Dice. I have also used job boards that target a specific region such as Craig’s List. Again, I have also used smaller job boards that might be targeted to a specific technology area. When I do use job boards this is what I tend to use them for: positions. I used to recruit for the speech technologies group at Microsoft. It was fairly easy to target the job boards with the key words for those areas or searching for people with company experience we wanted. Since fewer people with those skills are on the job boards it wasn’t as hard to find the people we needed. Resume agents – sometimes we will set up agents to search on a daily or weekly basis and return a list of results to us. This is at times easier then going to the site and searching. Also, if you get really good at your searchers you return fewer results over time. Competitive research – well kind of :) I’ll often check out one of the larger job boards to see what positions my competitors are posting. It helps me to understand what types of positions they have open, whether they have a big push to hire in a specific area or whether they have any openings at all. I also do searches for resumes by company name. It can be telling if all of a sudden there are a bunch of resumes from one company on the site. best source of hires at Microsoft is usually via a combination of efforts/sources such as employee referrals, office 2010 Home And Business sale, networking and our own attempts to find you thru the the web. Given some of your responses from the other day, it sounds like these are also the ways that you have found success in finding your next vocation move. However, there still can be value for you to post your resume to job boards and for me to search them. It is a personal choice, but as someone just said to me this is not an all or nothing situation. You should do a little bit of everything to get the job done. That said there are definite tips to posting your resume to a job board if you go that route. Check out our posts on targeting your resume for tech positions and then take a look at Heather’s recent post on getting the most out of job boards. Whatever you decide, chose the avenues or sources that are going to work best for you and go for it,discount office 2010 license! care and have a good weekend,
