At the ASD Trade Show is where I first met Craig and Jim Whillas of Kakadu Traders Australia. Their relaxing mood, thick Australian accent and display of rugged outdoor wear seemed appealing to me. I remember asking them what a Kakadu was. Little did I know that it was a National Park in Australia as well as a common bird there. We discussed their drop ship program and wholesale pricing. Kakadu Traders products include canvas jackets, shirts and vests, some with leather trim. Also available are a variety of hand bags, duffle bags and shoulder bags. Did I mention the leather and suede hats? Too many to mention all of them. Many different styles, colors and sizes available.
She sent me home with my red faced self and ideas for more services to purchase. Besides the Jane Iredale cosmetics that are offered at the office now, she also just got in the Clarisonic Face brush. This is some sort of super cleaning tool for your face that you can use at home. It's getting rave reviews from professionals and that group can be a hard sell. I've put it on my "to get" list.Big sale this month at Azalea Center on Obagi products! I can't remember the exact details and should have grabbed a flyer. These products are totally worth it. They sound expensive as a set, but if you add up all the stuff you have at home that's not working you'll l find they are about equal. When I reflect back to when I started my e-commerce website, I had no idea what my niche was going to be. I went to the 2008 ASD Trade Show in Las Vegas and tried to match my likes, interests and personality with many of the hundreds of merchants, manufacturers and distributors at the show. It was pretty clear to me that if I wanted to sell handbags, glass pipes or anything with a Hannah Montana logo on it, there were many vendors willing to help me, but that wouldn't really be a niche now would it. How difficult would it be for a start-up e-commerce site to jump into a market already dominated by thousands of other companies?

The first thing you have to do is discover inside yourself what your passions are. If you could quit your day job and do nothing else what would it be? Why is this important? It's important because this is going to be your business. You are going to be the subject matter expert. Assuming your potential customers will be calling you asking questions about products on your site, you want to have the correct answers. Interaction with customers builds credibility and credibility builds customer base.

I have seen better result with Obagi that I have with Cellex-C and La Mer; which were my skin potions of choice before.
