The film boasts the unlikely teaming of Elizabeth Taylor and Carol Burnett as its stars,
cheap marlboro cigarettes, and is slated to air on HBO late this spring.
Antonio’s distant voice is friendly and full of good-natured enthusiasm, though a slight edge of weariness can be detected.
He’s especially amused that the movie company had to bring in machines to dump a few tons of ######## snow for the movie’s exterior scenes.
“I mean, we come all the way up to Canada, right?” he laughs. “So where’s the snow?”
But the logistics of filmmaking are never simple. What fun would that be? Antonio isn’t complaining.
He’d rather brag on his stars, particularly the legendary Liz.
“Number one,
marlboro lights cigarettes, the big surprise is that Elizabeth has a terrific sense of humor,” he says.
“She’s bawdy and she’s fun and, I mean, she’s down-to-earth. This may sound crazy but, you know, you see this woman with all of this jewelry ... I said,
newport cartons, ‘Hey,
youth jerseys, you wanna take the Woolworth jewelry off?’ I gotta tell ya, I haven’t been around the kind of stuff that lady wears.
“My heart beat faster when I looked down one day at emeralds and diamonds, and I said, ‘Listen, this stuff can’t be real.’ And I’m looking at just earrings, a ring and a bracelet, all matched.
