Hi ladies and my internet friends. Today I want to write about this year 10th International Conference on Buddhist Women, in July 2008, where Buddhist women and friends from around the world will meet and sharing each other in Ulaanbaatar, capital city of Mongolia.
This year theme is “Buddhism in Transition: Tradition, Changes and Challenges”. The conference will be held from July 1 to 5 and after that all the delegations and participants will have 2 days of Temple tours. Sakyaditha means daughter of the Buddha, and the purpose of the conference is work to benefit women and enhance their capacity to work for peace, justice and the welfare of all living beings. Since 1987, Sakyaditha has been link up with vibrant communities of Buddhist women around the world who dedicated to global transformation.
Representing over three hundred million Buddhist women worldwide, they have forged friendships and created a global alliance to work toward a more sane and peaceful world.
The meetings are arranged every two years,
power bands, and their last meetings have been gathered in India, Thailand, Sri Lanka, Ladakh, Cambodia, Nepal, Taiwan, Korea, Malaysia and the United States.
The 2008 conference program will included leading Buddhist scholars, practitioners, artists and social activists from around the world to offer ideas and insights on any critical issues facing contemporary society. Group discussions, interdisciplinary panels and workshops will facilitate dialogue among participants.
