Office 2007 Pro Plus, Press-Register Follow Clarke County DHR accused of failing to accommodate former employee's ADHD Published: Sunday, April 25, 2010, 2:00 PM
MOBILE,
Office 2010 Standard Key, Ala. -- A former employee of the Clarke County Department of
Human Resources is alleging that the agency failed to accommodate his
attention deficit hyperactivity disorder and then fired him.
Eric Williamson,
Office 2007 Professional Key, who lives in Mobile County, worked as a social service
case worker until he was terminated in July of last year, according to
the federal suit,
Microsoft Office 2010, filed last week in U.S. District Court.
Williamson asked his supervisors to reduce his caseload and give him
additional time to complete his assignments. But they refused, the suit
states.
"Plaintiff has suffered, and continues to suffer, financial and
emotional hardship as a result of said termination, resulting in direct
and consequential financial and property losses, as well as mental
anguish, humiliation and emotional distress,
Microsoft Office 2007 Product Key," the suit states.
A DHR spokesman in Montgomery said he could not comment on pending
litigation. The director of the DHR office in Clarke County could not
be reached for comment.
Williamson's lawsuit accuses DHR of violating the Americans with
Disabilities Act and the Rehabilitation Act. He seeks compensatory
damages for lost pay and emotional distress, as wells as unspecified
punitive damages.
