Default Bridesmaid dresses1The curse of P,92Bridesmaid dre

They claim to be Pakistan’s loudest band, and if you’ve attended any of their shows long prom dresses, it is a claim they rightfully make. The band has been enjoying success since 2004, with an ever growing fanbase and listeners across Pakistan and around the world.
They’ve won numerous awards including ‘Best Live Act Award’ at the Lux Style Awards 2006 and multiple nominations in the following years, 2008 and 2010 for ‘Best Music Video’ and ‘Best Music Artist’. Individual nominations for Farhad Humayun include ‘Best Music Producer’ for ‘Pichal Pairee’ and for the ‘Best Music Video Director’ for ‘Mela Kariyay’.
The original line-up included Pappoo Sain, Joora Sain, Hassan Mohyeddin, Sheraz Siddiq and Farhad Humayun but that quickly changed as the band evolved with their music. Originally, the band played eclectic and intricate percussion sets that would rival an orchestral score. With the addition of members like Meesha Shafi and Mahmood Rehman, Overload gained a significant sound that featured loud percussions fused with power guitars and boisterous vocals. They released an album in 2006 (Overload) and one in 2009 (Pichal Pairee) but their true crux lies in performing live, which they’ve been doing in Pakistan and abroad.
Hard to imagine that a band which achieves such a pinnacle of success would have come to a point where two members left amid “creative differences” and the band has subsequently released a previous song under a new name, structure and musicians. The 2009 track ‘Dhol Bajay Ga’ was recently re-released by Overload under the title ‘Batti’. It’s a new composition; it’s got a whole new sound attached to it.
‘Dhol Bajay Ga’, the original song, starts off with the bass guitar and the dhols, a mixture of beat and percussion creating the mood of the song. Pretty soon, the guitars join in on the act and the first motif is a pretty strong fusion of traditional rock and dhol beats. Meesha Shafi’s vocals are undeniably persistent and powerful from the get-go. This is before she joined Coke Studio, and listening to her sing (not just on this one song) does give precedence for her appearance on Coke Studio. The percussions are perfectly blended; the drums and the dhols complement each other. It’s the kind of anthem that would have perfectly fit with any sports event, perhaps even with the World Cup (if there had been any cause for celebration). The guitars carry a clear cut rock beat throughout the track and weave through the percussion beats through the tracks. Overall cheap prom dresses 2011, this version of the song sounds much more complete and thought out. It’s clear that the song has a central theme and everybody’s contributions stand out individually but at the same time are the cohesive forces that hold the track together.
The 2011 of the song, re-titled as ‘Batti’, is essentially the same song. Both share the same structure, the same beats and the same motifs. The difference? The song is louder and much more aggressive. Which doesn’t mean it’s better, just that it adds more to the difference between the two songs. Farhad’s singing makes for an interesting addition. His vocals are definitely one key ingredient that separates this track from the previous one. But filling in Meesha Shafi’s shoes is not only a tough task; it is fast becoming quite impossible. But it’s clear that Farhad doesn’t care as he sings, “Batti aye ya na aye Bridesmaid dresses, dhol bajay ga”. Now whether he’s talking about the actual batti or the dhol, it’s hard to miss out the fact that he’s saying Overload will go on with the show. Farhad Humayun is joined by Sheraz on keyboards, Nasir Sain on Dhol along with session musicians Farhan Ali on bass, Shahzad Hameed and Haider Hashmi on guitars and Kaala Sain on the Dhol. The overall ambiance of the song is much more loose and open than the previous version. This is the Overload from way back when it started out grad dresses 2011, which concentrated on percussions and beats which was the heart of the band. In many ways this song is a journey that has brought the band full circle.
The music video for ‘Batti’ (co-directed by Farhad and Hassaan Ashraf) is simple and to the point. It clearly shows that Overload is now a new band, it has a new voice and it has a new image—with particular importance to the image as shown by the wardrobe provided by HSY. The band is performing its song on a stage with your standard smoke and lights thrown in for good measure. The important part here is getting the message out; and that message is Overload is back.
But in the end, it’s all about the music which is celebrated and also suffers. Shortly after the video premiered online on Youtube it was taken down when Meesha Shafi claimed copyright over it. The video is still down but it’s got a life of its own on the internet, thanks to places like facebook and other video streaming sites. Speaking of which, ‘Batti’ is also shown prominently throughout all of the major TV music channels.
It seems now all eyes are on Meesha Shafi; her strong reaction to the video has shown her passion to music and her contribution to Overload. And though she may never collaborate with Overload again, it will be interesting to see what her next move in the music world will be.

Jerry Seinfeld slams the Royal Wedding
“These aren’t special people!”
We were getting a little sick of the media and their obsession with the wedding. I mean, being interested in the details is fine, but everyday a story is being run about anything and everything related to the wedding A Line prom dresses, Prince William, or his bride-to-be, Kate Middleton.
Finally someone has the guts to speak about this hype, and it had to be a comedian (obviously, so if the Royal family gets offended short prom dresses, Jerry can simply cover the whole thing up by saying hey ball gowns, I was only being a comedian.)
Seinfeld is bringing his stand-up act to London and while promoting his June gig (albeit from the safety of a New York studio), the comedian sat down with the ITV morning show Daybreak, where he was asked if he was looking forward to the royal festivities.
“Yes, I’m very excited plus size prom dresse 2011,” came the sarcastic reply. “Well it’s a circus act, it’s an absurd act.”
“You know, it’s dress-up. It’s a classic English thing of let’s play dress-up. Let’s pretend that these are special people. OK, we’ll all pretend that—that’s what theater is. That’s why the British have the greatest theater in the world. They love to dress up and they love to play pretend.
He then added, “And that’s what the royal family is—it’s a huge game of pretend. These aren’t special people—it’s ######## outfits, ######## phony hats and gowns.”
Now, that doesn’t mean he shouldn’t fear for his life for these comments. Because well, the Royal family isn’t the one writing about their plans and proceedings in the newspapers themselves, so why throw so much dirt on them? In fact ball gowns 2011, Jerry should go into hiding for some time.

Akon wants to be in Bollywood because of SRK
That much is obvious. Hollywood’s latest infatuation with Bollywood has been the hottest topic for gossip (at least in Bolly-land.) You have Bipasha Basu’s link-up with Hollywood hottie, Josh Hartnett; you have Lady Gaga’s Bollywood remix of ‘Born This Way; now you have Akon announcing he wants to do something in Bollywood (though he’s not sure what, exactly)
That just goes to show how being in Bolly-land is the new cool thing to do. Akon has been hovering around the likes of people like Shahrukh Khan, performing in birthday bashes and partying with SRK and his friends and family. We kind of figured his intentions. Nevertheless, he felt the need to announce how he is eyeing a chance to star in movies.
“I’m waiting to get into Bollywood movies. That’s ultimately my goal. I want to do it successfully. I’m not quite sure what character, but I definitely want to do it,” the singer told the reporters on Friday.
Well, he has one foot in it already as he has sung one song for SRK’s upcoming flick Ra.One. “Working with Shahrukh was an amazing experience. He opened me up to Bollywood. He made me see a whole new light and the possibilities. I enjoyed it so much that I’m trying to sneak in now,” Akon said while revealing his Bollywood plans. Good. That adds the cherry on top. Now he’s all praises for the actor too.
The final cherry on top of the first cherry is how he thinks India is his second home. What? How many times have you even been to India Akon?
“I love India and I keep looking for ways to come here. You guys show more than loyalty towards my art and my career. I don’t have words to express my feelings...I hope I get many more opportunities to come here and share my talent with you. I feel like a family here. This is like a second home to me.” Well, you’ve probably won everyone’s heart by now. It’s really that easy to be in Bolly-land.Topics related articles:
