The year 2007 is about to end, so it's time to look back at the NBA's best of the year. Sure there are parts of two NBA seasons in the calander year, but that shouldn't stop us from doing up a Best of 2007, NBA style!
So, a debate can go on forever, but who is the Best Player of 2007 according to About.com's very own Basketball Guide? It's a tough choice between Kobe Bryant, Dirk Nowitzki, Steve Nash, and LeBron James.
Who was the Best NBA Player of 2007? Well,Horton Hockey Jerseys, Dirk Nowitzki has the MVP trophy, doesn't he? Easy, argument over, right? Wait,Tyler Seguin Third Edition Jerseys, hold on a minute because it isn't so cut and dry with questions of this nature. Everyone has a point of view, which they will argue with valid points, but yet true justification isn't there. Why? Because somebody will make valid points for another player.
In any case, whenever I think of "best" and "NBA," the first player that always comes to mind is the Los Angeles Lakers' Kobe Bryant. There is no denying his talent and skill level as he is able to both score prolifically and shut his man down on defense. Did you know that he's been an NBA All-Defensive First Team selection multiple times? And despite his rep as a ballhog, he actually dishes a ton of dimes for a scorer regularly? If this was the Best Overall Talent award, I'd easily give it to Kobe. But, it's not.
So,Chara Hockey Jerseys, how about the aforementioned Nowitzki? He's definitely up there and thanks to his play and the Dallas Mavericks' excellent record during the regular season when they blazed through the competition, the team and Dirk didn't get it done in the postseason, notoriously losing to the Golden State Warriors in the first round of last season's NBA Playoffs... And I have to take that into account.
Besides, if I had a vote for NBA MVP,SEGUIN Hockey Jerseys, I would have gone with Steve Nash last season. He posted better individual numbers than he had in the two previous seasons that he won the MVP award. Granted, the award isn't only about the individual, but also weighted in the decision is how his team does and how important he is to said team. Do you think that the Phoenix Suns would have succeeded as much as they have since Nash's return to them if he wasn't on the team? Nope.
But, if we want to base this award on talent, achievement,Wheeler Hockey Jerseys, and importance to team, I think for 2007, we have to go LeBron James for this award. Offensively, he's just about as gifted at Kobe Bryant,Thomas Hockey Jerseys, probably more so in getting his team involved, although not in the "killer instinct" sort of way just yet. Defensively, LBJ is okay, but definitely isn't a Kobe. But what James has over Kobe is the true ability to place his team on his back BY HIMSELF during the playoffs and getting them to the NBA Finals.
I think it would be hard to argue that there is another player more important to his team than LeBron James. Take away Nash, you still have Amare Stoudemire and Shawn Marion. Take away Dirk Nowitzki, you still have Josh Howard and Jason Terry. Take away James and you end up with Drew Gooden and a guy nicknamed "Boobie" in Daniel Gibson.
