Point guards don't have to attend Georgia Tech to reach the NBA, but doing so certainly seems to help. Since 1986, Yellow Jackets' point guards Mark Price,Thomas Hockey Jerseys, Kenny Anderson, Travis Best,Jordan Black White Jerseys, Stephon Marbury, and Jarrett Jack have all reached the NBA and enjoyed long successful careers. Three of those point guards rank among the top five NBA players from Georgia Tech.
The greatest active NBA player from Georgia Tech is power forward Chris Bosh. The Toronto Raptors took Bosh with the fourth pick of the 2003 NBA Draft. Bosh developed into a superstar player in Toronto, participating in each of the last five All-Star Games. He is now the Raptors' all-time leading scorer (10,275), rebounder (4,776), and shot-blocker (600). Riding a streak of five straight seasons of at least 22 points per game, including three years in which he has averaged a double-double, Bosh was one of the top free agents of the 2010 class. He enters the 2010-11 season as a member of the Miami Heat, comprising one of the new big three of Bosh, Dwyane Wade, and LeBron James.
One of the greatest point guards of the 1990s, Mark Price is one of the all-time best NBA players from Georgia Tech. In four years with the Yellow Jackets, the two-time All American scored more than 2,000 points while taking the school to just its second appearance in the Elite Eight. As the starting point guard for the Cleveland Cavaliers, Price dished out 4,206 assists and knocked down 802 threes in nine seasons to become the team's all-time leader in each category. During his tenure in Cleveland, he earned four All-Star appearances and four All-NBA honors. As one of the NBA's elite shooters, Price shot .402 from three point range and is the league's greatest ever free throw shooter with a career .904 percentage from the charity stripe.
Stephon Marbury was a great scoring point guard,moncler bady, a two-time All-Star and one of the best NBA players from Georgia Tech. Marbury earned All-America honors in his only season with the Yellow Jackets before becoming the fourth overall pick of the 1996 draft. He spent stints in Minnesota, New Jersey, Phoenix, New York,Tyler Seguin Third Edition Jerseys, and Boston as he maintained career averages of 19.3 points and 7.6 assists in 13 NBA seasons. Marbury's 6,471 total assists rank 20th all-time.
Another great point guard who enjoyed a long successful career, Kenny Anderson was one of the top NBA players from Georgia Tech. As a freshman, the two-time All-American helped the Yellow Jackets reach their first ever Final Four in 1990. His NBA career got off to a great start in New Jersey as he averaged 15.3 points and 7.8 assists per game in five seasons there. In his career season of 1993-94, Anderson boasted averages of 18.8 points, 3.9 rebounds, 9.6 assists, and 1.9 steals per game to earn a spot on the 1994 All-Star team. In his 14-year career, he totaled 10,789 points, 5,Wheeler Hockey Jerseys,196 assists,#33 Chara Yellow, and 1,258 steals.
