Drastic changes have been made to the Nike Air Max Running flagship from 2009 -> 2010 -> 2011 on the upper designs, shedding Flywire,
Nike SB Janoski, adding diamond mesh, and implementing Fuse. For the Air Max+ 2012, Nike is taking a page out of the book of the recently released
Nike Free Run+ 2 and upcoming Nike Lunarglide+ 3, using the multi-layered upper design that mimics the muscular anatomy of the human foot. A mesh base layer lies underneath a layer of Fuse, with another tensile material above it to create a highly stable and lightweight upper construction, with the heel being constructed with the seam-less composite material seen on other Nike Fuse footwear designs. Remaining unchanged is the running-specific 360-degree Max Air footbed.
