Toughened Glass
Fiberglass is an extremely fine fibre of glass and is most commonly used as an insulation material. It is created by stretching molten glass like chewing gum between your fingers until it is very long and thin and as well as being a great insulator is very light so is a great material for floating devices like surfboards.
These were created to protect your eyes from the glare and the harmful effects the sun can have on your eyes. The sun emits ultraviolet (UV) radiation which is unhealthy for the human eye, which is why doctors suggest we wear them whenever we are outside. Sunglasses are built with UV protection built into the lenses and with a tint to reduce the glare of the light.
This is more a type of window, in that it is made up of two, three or even four sheets of glass packed together for strength and insulation. People tend to think of this as a type of glass though as it is one of the most common types of glass we interact with on a daily basis whether we're making an upgrade or double glazing repairs. There are also a wide variety of improved and enhanced forms of double glazing forms such as UPVC windows which offer enhanced temperature regulation and glare reduction.

Stained Glass
Did you know that glass is in fact an inorganic substance, which is created by cooling heated up silica (quartz sand) at the point where it is in a glass state? Most modern glass is created with other substances thrown into the melting process to mix with the silica and to produce a glass with a variety of different properties.
This type of glass is used in things like car windows (not the windscreen, the side and back window), cooking dishes and now mobile phone screens. The glass is created and then treated with either a chemical process or with a temperature process which creates a structural balance in the glass making it significantly stronger and more temperature resistant than normal glass. Toughened glass does have a flaw however, if it is struck on a corner or with a sharp point it will entirely shatter into tiny pieces. This is why it is also called safety glass.
Double Glazing
