"The Lady of the Lake", or "I'm back from vacation"
It was a wonderful week spent with family north face sales and friends at Waldo Lake, here in my home state of Oregon. My hubby, Eric, spent some time playing with the sailboat rigging and figured out how to get a little more oomph out of the genoa - that's the forward sail on our boat. That made him and my son Ben very happy, 'cause that allowed them to sail faster and heel her over harder (that's sailor-speak for nearly tipping over the boat without actually doing it). Sorry, I don't have any pics of them sailing that fast and furious - I was keeping my feet on the campground and tending the baby. I did go out when they promised me they'd keep it calm. I am definitely a fair-weather, slow and easy kind of sailor! :)The crazy weather sure made for some gorgeous skies over the lake, though. I walked out to meet them coming discounted ugg boots in from a sail and kicked myself for not bringing the good camera with me. Here are a few of the piddly-dip shots I got with my cell phone. Isn't that sky gorgeous??? That's our Lady Dulcinea on the water! And moncler jackets discount these are our 4 youngest girls in the canoe. The dog wouldn't let them leave him behind! :) What could be better than having free run of a canoe and an island to play on? Waldo has lots of cool little islands to explore. Oh, and wild blueberries and huckleberries!!! And remember the mattress I reconstructed for the V-berth on the boat? It was SOOO much more comfortable sleeping on the boat this year than last year! It definitely works! :-D YaHOOO!!!
