What is it about this sausage binding dress that drives people crazy? After years of speculation and skepticism, I headed to Herve store in SOHO to try one on for a special event I had been invited to attend in Paris.
I tried on at least 8 different shapes and colors, and I was sold — lock, stock and barrel. My intention was to buy a simple,
herve leger, classic shape in either grey or black, but you know me…I never do basics. I ended up walking out with a coral number with a halter criss-cross around the chest. There is something magical about these bandages that nip and tuck a woman’s body into the right shape. Suddenly, I had a butt and boobs! Possibly an illusion, but so what?
Recently during NY Fashion Week, I ran into the sales girl who sold me this very dress. Right away, she invited me to visit and see the new collection, but I had just seen the show. I was already in love with the metal details that were added to the classic bandages. Very urban warrior. Right up my alley. I’m staying out of trouble and avoiding the Herve store. Better to admire from afar.
