Default Clash of the Titans Looms

It seems the time has finally come for what ESPN's Mark May has dubbed "College Football Armageddon." Week eight has just ended and there was plenty of drama. LSU defeated Auburn convincingly, and after some first half struggles, Alabama took moncler jacket care of Tennessee. And that leaves the two undefeated. Both have bye weeks before they face off. There are 12 days remaining before this unofficial national championship quarterfinal takes place. An epic No. 1 vs. No. 2, coach vs. former team looms. College Gameday plans to set up camp in Tuscaloosa Thursday morning instead of their usual Thursday night. On October 19, Kirk Herbstreit was on Paul Finebaum's radio show saying Gameday wanted to be there a full 48 hours before the matchup to give it national championship-type coverage. The 7 pm, primetime game will be a competition to remember as college football converges on Tuscaloosa in 12, count ‘em, 12 days. Now, before we skip ahead 12 days, there doudoune moncler was a lot more that happened this past weekend. Formerly No. 3 Oklahoma fell, disgracefully, to Texas Tech. Â*The final score was 41-38, but the score doesn't reflect the poor play of Bob Stoops' Sooners. Landry Jones Heisman stock dropped tremendously with the los, as did the Sooners national championship hopes. A team whose defense was just being compared to LSU and Alabama's has quickly fallen. But, Landry moncler it Jones isn't the only one who's Heisman stock was hurt. Wisconsin's Russell Wilson had two interceptions during the Badgers' loss to Michigan State. Like Oklahoma, Wisconsin attempted a comeback, but the Spartans were able to hold them off, claiming one of the two big upsets on the weekend. With these two top 10 teams losing, it puts even more emphasis on the November 5 clash in Tuscaloosa. It has also ignited talk of a rematch between Alabama and LSU. It may be a little early for that discussion. In fact, it definitely is. So, right now, let's just focus on everyone else while the 2011 titans of college football quietly prepare for a regular season battle to remember.
