While we’re far away from 100–the number on the scale that basically means consumers are totally confident in their spending–50+ is still a heck of a lot better than 25.3, which is the low we hit in February 2009.

The Conference Board, a group that tracks spending in the US,
Mulberry Holdalls, says its consumer confidence index rose to 52.5 in March, up from 46.4 in February.
