Malaysia will be exempted from import duty on text

January 1, 2011 , the Malaysian will waive the 300 species including textiles tariffs on imports , hoping to attract more tourists.
Malaysian Tourism Minister Ng Yen Yen has recently pointed out that the country's tourist shopping tourism income accounts for only 28.3% of revenue , a move implemented,thanksgiving ideas, the proportion of tourist shopping revenues are expected to increase to 35% by 2020 .

It is understood , Malaysia attracted 23.6 million visitors last year, immigration,wedding throws, the average weekly income to create 10 billion ringgit (1 U.S. dollar equals 3.11 ringgit ), but the proportion of shopping tourism revenue in less than 35% in Singapore and China Hong Kong's 57%.

It is reported to be exempted from the 300 kinds of imported goods , including cosmetics, perfumes,independence day gifts, textiles, jewelry , the industry believes that with the implementation of this measure will enhance Malaysia's commodity prices in the Southeast Asian region a competitive advantage .
