Today’s featured rescue opportunity is a handsome male Shiba Inu mix named Oakley. He’s about 2 years old and has a face that kind of reminds me of my friend’s Chihuahua. He’s currently being fostered with Buffalo Pug & Small Breed Rescue, Inc. in Buffalo, New York. According to his listing, he’s a very sweet dog who gets along very well with children and other dogs.
Here’s the rescue’s full description of Oakley:
Looking for a dog that will make you melt instantly!? Oakley might just be the one. He is a 2 year old Shiba Inu Mix that came from a hoarding situation in West Virginia where Oakley and numerous other dogs lived outside year round. They were denied vet care, proper shelter and nutrition. But, Oakley has begun a new chapter in his life and all he needs now is a home and family of his own!
Oakley is one of the sweetest dogs we have ever seen. He is incredibly gentle footed, and certainly has some graceful, cat-like ways. He loves to snuggle close to his human and sneak kisses here and there. He is so happy that when his foster mom comes home, he dances to greet her and is always ready for some cuddling! Oakley’s house manners were nothing to rave of when he first came into our rescue, but has since made drastic improvements! With some structure and a routine, this boy almost there! Oakley is great on a leash and does not pull. He doesn’t mind the snow, but will lift his paw when he has had enough!
He is spectacular with other dogs, cats and children! You could not ask for a milder dog! He does not play with the other dogs much, but never gets upset with them! He loves children as well and when one comes along, he is happy to greet them with a wagging tail,
lunettes! Oakley is a true sweetie pie! Now, to the important part..
Oakley needs a family that will love and cherish him forever. A family that will get him to the vet when he needs to go, keep his tummy full and take him for walks. He needs a special someone to curl up on the couch with and love forever! Think that’s you? Submit your adoption application! This sweet boy is patiently waiting!
