Every year when Christmas comes around we all hope for that one gift. That pair of shoes that you haven't been able to afford, that set of power tools for your garage, or that toy you've been wanting all year. But what about that one gift for your computer? While computers aren't alive there are many things that can be bought for them that would make them happy if they were.
Remember if your computer runs great, and is happy, you will be happy as well. So let's take a look at hardware upgrades for your machine. If you know how to work on computers then there are a range of presents to buy for your beloved machine. First off let's take a look at the power supply. Many people don't realize how important this part is. Not just any old power supply is good enough.
While it may say 700 watts on the side, it might be bad quality. Remember you need one that has enough amps on the 12 volt rail to support your video card. A good power supply or PSU generally has around 40 amps on the 12 volt rail. If you don't have a video card and are using an onboard chipset then it's time to get one. Video cards do more for your machine than make games look good.
They are more capable than an integrated chipset and can take additional strain off of the primary processor, or CPU. Dedicated video cards as they are called also have their own memory installed. This frees up the ram that was being shared by the onboard video card and system, allowing for faster performance. They also can decode complex DVD's and BLU RAY movies faster.
In addition to a video card you can also purchase a dedicated sound card and some new speakers. Nothing like a 5.1 surround card and speaker system to give your games the sound quality they deserve. Of course these are all moot points if you don't have the RAM to make your machine perform its best. Luckily RAM chips are some of the cheapest components available for a computer.
So go ahead and give your machine the 4 gigabytes of RAM it deserves for Christmas. You could also buy a 1 terabyte hard drive for your Computer. No longer will you be constrained by those pesky space limitations for your music, games, pictures, and home movies. Finally you could give your computer some extra cooling with additional fans, or higher performance ones.
Of course for the interface devices you can buy new mice and keyboards. Preferably the transparent ones with the multi colored LED lights in them. Or grab a new HDTV for a monitor upgrade. If you're really enthusiastic then you could buy a transparent case with LED fans. Nothing says it's Christmas like swapping computer parts between cases while drinking Eggnog.
So regardless of what you buy to make your computer happy remember that it can't be happy about it. Therefore you must be happy for it

The internet has become a key marketing tool for any new artist today. Some effective older methods are to hand out CDs. They are very cheap to make these days, and your goal is to get people listening to your music. And of course, the most important thing you should be doing is playing every gig you can book... Yes, even if it isn't a paying gig. At this point, people may not be willing to pay for your concerts or your CDs, but if you ever hope to get to that point, you need them to hear your music first. So get out there and start building your Fan Base by any means possible. If you can create a local buzz, that can turn into a regional buzz, and sooner or later a national buzz
