If we were to score the Nike Free Run Plus under the requirements of a barefoot running shoe then they would do badly. However, as a training shoe they are a great alternative to conventional running shoes and make a refreshing change. We will for certain be using them for short runs

Our biggest problem is not with the Nike Free Run+ but with Nikes’ marketing of the shoes. Never has the phrase “Don’t believe the hype” been so relevant,
If you are after a barefoot running experience then look towards the Vibram Five Fingers, or the Terra Plana Evo or even some racing flats. The Nike Free Run Plus are at best a “transitional minimalist shoe” but that doesn’t roll off the tongue for the marketeers at Nike
Nike AirMax LTD! Barefoot purists will scoff at the bulk of the Nike Free Run Plus but for if you are looking for a shoe that will challenge your feet in a different way then they are perfect.
In the first of our reviews on Barefoot running shoes we take a look at the Nike Free Run Plus. Our initial impressions of the
Nike Free Run Plus were really positive. Now after two months of testing we reveal the true findings.
The Nike Free Run+ feel noticeably different from conventional running shoes but don’t throw you out of your comfort zone. In fact they feel extremely comfortable which is in complete contrast to other “barefoot” running shoes and ironically
cheap nike air max shoes, is the greatest downfall of these shoes.
We can’t disagree the Nike Free Run Plus are highly flexible and are actually a joy to wear, especially for short recovery runs and training in the gym. They don’t have the support of other shoes and as a result the muscles in your feet need to work a lot harder. That, however
nike free run 5.0 V3 shoes, is the reason we like them - they make you feel like you are strengthening your feet.
The Nike Free Run Plus have an RRP of £65.00 but are currently available from £58.50.

Nike has positioned the Nike Free Run+ as the next best thing to barefoot running. However, the honest truth is that they don’t mimic barefoot running at all. The copious amounts of cushioning actually encourage you to heel strike rather than to run on your mid/forefoot as you would be force to if you were running barefoot.
