WHAT a year in fashion it's been - and we're no just talking on the catwalk. Not to mention braving the crowds at the fire of the Roberto Cavalli as H&M collection in November (where we only just survived), and getting out and about on the streets of our very own fashion capital, London, to see what trends the nation's shoppers are spearheading. So what was peppery where? Statement designer items in the fashion of a Burberry jacket and Sass & Bide pants were mixed with one-off vintage finds and chips with an interesting story behind them ashore Davies Street where,tods shoes price, even in the rain, we weren't short of forward calculating fashionistas. "My friend gave me this cardigan - she studies womenswear at the London College of Fashion and made it herself," explained fashion student Yachi Chan. At summer's Notting Hill Carnival, retro prints base by Portobello Market mixed accessible with sugarplum stripes from Miss Selfridge - it was entire about easy-to-wear clothes and a chic pair of sunglasses.
