Corsets Why the Fit Really Does Matter
Hey ladies, a lot of you have moaned about not having jeans or shoes that fit correctly and how many times you went back and forth to the store to get those items. Not how long you stayed when you went to the store. Not how many pairs you tried on while at the store but how many separate occasions you traveled back to the store, (or to be honest, stores) to get the right fit for your jeans or for your shoes. Apparently you consider those to be important to you. So, you have opted to buy a corset now, but are thinking that it is going to be easy peezy lemon squeezy to accomplish: you will queue up the site online and blammo, you have a new corset on the way. Or you think you will pull, haphazard into the parking lot, back end of your car kind of askew as you dash into the local lingerie shoe, grab the first corset that catches your eye and be done. Number one, learn to park sister. Number two, that corset idea? It isn't happening that way.
The fit of your corset is important for a number of reasons. Number one, just like poorly fitting jeans that take away from your appearance, so can a poorly fitted corset. Number two, think about what happened the last time you wore shoes that did not fit right. They hurt you, right? A corset that does not fit you the right way will dig into you if it is too small or flop around on you if it is too large. Either way the effect is not what you are after at all.
To get the right fit for your corset, you need to be measured, preferably in the bust, waist and the hips. If there is a large difference between the bust and hips, you made need to consider a shorter corset so that you can find one that fits correctly. Start by looking for a corset that fits you by the biggest measurement and start trying them on. You may not be able to find a fit that way either, which means you may need a corset that allows for more adjustable fit.
On the other hand, if you are more straight up and down, you will have an easier time finding a corset, however, you may be able to find one that has adjustments in the back or on the side so that you can ######## a nipped in waist as well as play up your cleavage.
After finding the right fit and right size, you should also look for special touches and features like padded stays for added comfort and spandex which can help you stay tucked in where you need the added help. Girls who need it may also find corsets with a little added padding as well.
