For wild animals, each day is a struggle to survive, so every sense must remain on high alert.
This edgy, taut-nerved vigilance shows clearly in the eyes and posture of both predators and prey, as in the photographs above and elsewhere on this website.
But as the numbers of wild animals dwindle, so too are the opportunities to see them in their natural state.
This realisation has led to a surge in safari tourism, much of it to the nature reserves and national parks of Southern and East Africa. Those fortunate ample to visit these areas often want a record of their safari, hence the growing interest in wildlife photography.
Wildlife Photos Often Disappoint
But for the average tourist, picture opportunities are limited by numerous constraints - time,
Tiffany Online, weather,
Tiffany Jewelry Company, equipment, access restrictions - so the wildlife images taken on safari are often disappointing and not a true reflection of the encounter.
As a regular tourist and not a professional wildlife photographer, I have experienced these frustrations.
My ambitions for this website are modest - all I hope is that the photographs provide some pleasure and that I am able to share a modicum of what I've learnt about wildlife and wildlife photography.
