Facebook has said that America must radically reform its
US Immigration policies if the country is going to stay competitive in the global economy.
Sheryl Sandberg, the chief operating officer at the world's biggest social networking site, said that the US should give visas to foreign engineers who get degrees at the country's universities.
Authorities, she said, should be "stapling a visa to every high-tech diploma." Facebook's concerns echo those of a number of leading business figures, as well as New York mayor Mike Bloomberg, that
Immigration Laws bought in after the September 11 terrorist attacks are now handing advantages to America's key rivals.
Ms Sandberg said of overseas engineers "not only do they not take jobs from other Americans, they create jobs for other Americans if we could keep them here."
