Europe’s leading scientific papers on drug-related matters will probably be acknowledged this 12 months within a new award launched from the EU medicines company (EMCDDA). The prize offering,Office Professional Plus 2007 Key, to get location each year in Lisbon,Microsoft Office 2010 Key, will celebrate excellence in scientific producing with this region of essential worry to EU citizens. The inaugural celebration will take place inside the margins with the EMCDDA Scientific Committee meeting, getting held in the Portuguese cash from 14–15 November. The importance of scientific publishing has long been underlined frequently by the Scientific Committee as proof of scientific excellence. The forthcoming (non-monetary) prize originated in these discussions.

Commenting around the initiative, EMCDDA Director Wolfgang Götz mentioned: ‘Our Scientific Committee offers a strong voice for scientific standards and I welcome its initiative for lauding the best scientific papers within our discipline of medication and drug addiction. Ensuring the findings of European study are made available to the policy and apply community is an important issue. I hope this award will turn into a useful channel for disseminating these results‘.

The award is now open. Nominations shut on 2 May possibly 2011.

The jury — composed of members from the Committee and EMCDDA workers — will decide on up to 10 prime articles from a number of disciplines,Office 2007 Activation, nationalities and languages.

Notification of your chosen posts will also be manufactured through the EMCDDA site and publications. 

Editors of journals in which a successful article was printed is going to be informed from the outcome from the award.
