TRON Legacy cosplay costumes are sure to be considered a big hit at conventions this season, and with that, I'm going to kick off the first extra credit "assignment" with a little how to shoot TRON costumes!
So let's grab our identity cosplay accessories disks and jump into The Grid
Before we start, lets get the legal stuff out belonging to the way... Though the images are mine, and all that stuff, TRON, TRON: Legacy, the costumes pictured, Disney, Disney's California Adventure, and ElecTRONica are copyrighted by the Walt Disney Company. So all rights reserved. I am just a TRON fan, and a photographer.
ok, for the most part there are code geass cosplay two types of TRON costumes, lighted and reflective... I realize that you were considering origional movie and Legacy, but for the purpose of this extra credit assignment, we will deal with lighted and non lighted costumes and not get into the specifics of certain film costumes... That is of program you are going to wear Jeff Bridges' "Jedi Robes of Awesome". then you certainly only require to realize which i will be hanging around the convention hall floor with a shirt that says "Bar Jedi"... discover ME!!! =o)
With that said, the TRON cosplay costumes are a specific thing you are going to desire to do in low light, preferably at night, or on an overcast day time with clouds (to get the dramatic storm look belonging to the TL grid). There are a couple of things we can perform to get the needed effect, even in fairly bright sunlight, provided you van adjust the aperture in your camera.
Let's begin with the reflective code geass cosplay costumes, as they are a little bit easier to shoot. The images on this blog post were taken at ElecTRONica at Disney's California Adventure, and use reflective tape for the circuits.
One belonging to the cheap bleach cosplay awesome things about a reflective costume, is the actuality that just a little bit of flash makes a huge difference in the costumes appearance. Without flash, you can get nice images, however hit the reflective with some flash and the circuit lines glow!
Cellphones are a little bit limited, anime cosplay costumes however if your cell phone has a flash, you can still capture some reflection thus the desired effect. Point&Shoots, depending on how advanced can have almost as much control being a DSLR. If you are utilizing manual control of your P&S, confirm your exposure. Make sure you are getting a correct image. Then adjust your flash to some -2/3 compensation. Depending on the flash to subject distance, you should have the ability to get a nice "pop" from the reflective portion belonging to the costume.
If you are unfamiliar with the manual operation of your camera, try fireworks mode, or evening portrait mode. What these modes do is hit bleach cosplay your subject with flash, then keep recording the picture for any instant longer. You will finish up with more ambient light (the surrounding light you can see that doesn't are available from the flash), it will sort of mute the reflection from the flash a bit, generating for somewhat better kingdom hearts cosplay image. This works a little bit better at night. Be careful, merely because belonging to the nature of evening portrait and fireworks mode, the shutter will remain open longer and your images may are available out blurry attributed cosplay accessories to camera shake. If you are utilizing these modes, I suggest a tripod, IR getting a deep breath and hold it while getting the image. Also pull your elbows tightly against your ribs, and keep your feet shoulder width apart. This will support you keep your camera steady.
For the DSLR crowd, final fantasy cosplay costumes and those that will use the larger flashes with their p&s cameras like I can with my G-12 (provided you have an outside flash like a 580EX2), you are going to use your flash at a minimum power for your particular flash to subject distance. This means you are gonna be utilizing your flash on manual... Along with your camera!
First of all, the use of an automatic anime cosplay costumes mode like TTL will do a good job, I'm not saying it won't, but the more control you have over your flash and camera, the better and more resourceful your images can be.
On the convention hall floor, naruto cosplay being a starting point (manual exposure with the camera), you are going to desire to set your camera at an ISO of 800, the widest aperture your lens will allow, and a shutter speed of dolls cosplay not much less than 1/60, and adjust from there. Change your ISO or aperture to preserve that minimum shutter speed.
Most contacts that are available with the cosplay accessories camera have a different aperture. These "kit lenses" are often variable from 3.5-5.6. What that means is as you zoom from wide to telephoto, the amount of light coming into your lens gets much less and less. With this in mind, I would say to set your camera to 5.6 and leave it there... If you have a constant aperture lens, keep it on its widest setting for instance 2.8... For now kingdom hearts cosplay , we will get resourceful in one more post.
Ok, I got a little bit off subject for any minute, flash settings...
The item of shooting a reflective costume is to get a nice exposure on the subject while generating the reflective portion pop. being a starting point I would say provided the above settings (iso800, 1/60, f/5.6) set your flash at about 1/16 cosplay wigs power at a subject to flash distance of about 7'. If the exposure is good (it should be) make no changes, but step back about a foot or two. The distance will lessen the flash power hitting the subject. It will still light the reflective tape, but much less light will be lighting the rest belonging to final fantasy cosplay the cosplayer. It's a sort of awesome result.
ok, we all good on shooting TRON costumes? Cool!
one final thing, try this outside with some clouds in the background, naruto cosplay setting your camera and flash to 100ISO, f/16, 1/125 and full power flash, at a distance of about 7' shoot your subject with clouds in the background, and shoot laying cosplay wigs on the ground (upwards at your subject). This will give your picture dramatic blue sky's which you can darken a lot more in post to give the "Grid Storm "effect from TL.
