Skippy Peanut Butter Recall: Is Your Jar Affected?
Peanut Butter fans, it’s time to head to the pantry and check that jar of Skippy. Unilever and the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) announced a reall of Skippy Reduced Fat Peanut Butter due to a potential concern with Salmonella contamination. The recall affects a limited number of jars in 15 different states.
Skippy Reduced Fat Creamy Peanut Butter Spread and Skippy Reduced Fat Super Chunk Peanut Butter Spread sold in 16.3 oz plastic jars. To see if the salmonella scare affects your jar of peanut butter, you can check the UPC codes, located on the side of the jar’s label below the bar codeor or Best-If-Used-By-Dates, which are stamped on the lid of the jar. The following codes are being recalled:

The recalled Skippy peanut butter was sold in Arkansas, Connecticut,
Office Professional 2007, Delaware, Illinois, Iowa, Maine, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, New Hampshire,
Windows 7 Ultimate, New Jersey, New York, North Dakota, Pennsylvania, Virginia and Wisconsin.
Although no illnesses have been reported from the contaminated peanut butter, consumers are being asked to discard recalled peanut butter and get a replacement coupon from Unilever.
