Low-price electronics retailer Kogan Technologies claims to possess the first sub-$400 10in netbook in Australia. Originally offering for $499, the Kogan Netbook is now priced at $399.
Specifications contain a 1.6GHz Atom N270 CPU, 1G of RAM,
Office 2007 Keygen, a 160G hard generate, a 1024 x 600 display,
Office 2007 Download, 802.11b/g wireless, plus a three-cell lithium ion battery.
The Pro edition has similarly been diminished in value from $539 to $439. It incorporates 2G of RAM,
Office 2010 Key, a USB Bluetooth dongle,
Microsoft Office 2007 Product Key, along with a six-cell battery.
That six-cell battery may also be acquired separately for $64.
"We have established ourselves as a leader in this market and our buying power is increasing every day," said company founder Ruslan Kogan.
"Through our direct business model we can cut out the middle men and pass on these savings to our customers," he added.
The Kogan Netbook ships with the gOS operating system. "We are huge believers in cloud computing and open source software. The reasons are simple, open source software is usually faster, better and has more features,
Microsoft Office 2010 Professional Plus," said Kogan.
