Christian Louboutin Shoes Autumn style
From Anna Wintour to Rachel Zoe, with whole,0 the trends in between: the ABCs of form literacy
A is for Anniversaries, many cheerful returns. Fashion uses any and every plea to break off the champers: 20 years marks a job annual for Suzy Menkes, fashion editor of the International Herald Tribune, Anna Wintour at American Vogue and Martin Margiela, the maverick Belgian designer, who celebrates his 20th with a vocation retrospective at Antwerp’s MoMu salon. Diesel and Banana Republic are flirty at 30, Esprit celebrates the big 4-0, Lacoste is 75 and Ferragamo an enduring 80. And, oh yeah, the National Post turns 10 this month.
B is for Bows on Blouses, one of fall’s quintessential "pieces." Dolce & Gabbana and Proenza Schouler’s supersized version emulates Faye Dunaway’s Network wardrobe, not to mention what the actors wore in Nine to Five. The saggy feminine loops show up on Christian Louboutin shoes, too, from Valentino’s signature flourish on ankle boots to knots on Naot’s Pleasure pump.
C is for Collarbones and Collaborations. Buh-bye, Posh bob. So long, shag. Anne Hathaway’s tousled just-above-the-shoulder collarbone cut is the do of the day. What’s new in collaborations? Comme des Garcons is coming to H&M next month. Bob Mackie is dressing Tina Turner, and everyone’s dressing Madonna. Film and fashion co-operate in Prada’s latest cinematic short. M. A. C has tapped Ungaro designer Esteban Cortazar to create seasonal colours (next up: Dame Edna). ###### and the City wardrobe housekeeper Patricia Field is on the Home Shopping Network and at Marks & Spencer. And you knew it was merely a material of time: Sofia Coppola will design a collection of handbags and Christian Louboutin shoes for Louis Vuitton, vibram five fingers women, where her BFF Marc Jacobs is creative director.
D for Dominatrix. Victoria Beckham occasioned a stir final week in heel-less latex boot-tights by Antonio Berardi. But spikes, studs or vinyl duds, the thigh’s the restrict, and clothes has more than a touch of the S&M to it. Cage-front Christian Louboutin shoes and airing multiple canes and seven-inch fetish heels, oh my! Even Loubs are covered in forbidding spikes.
E is for Elections, an here and 1 there. Now let’s push on from discussing Sarah Palin’s hair. F is for Flats and the news here is that Manolo’s moving on. British Vogue reports that the stiletto king has recently gone gaga for graceful gamines (think Audrey Hepburn) who can work flatties. Maybe that’s because Madame Sarkozy, Carla Bruni, wears them so well? Don’t go, Manolo, the stiletto needs you!
F is for Flats and the newspaper here is namely Manolo’s moving on. British Vogue reports that the stiletto throne has recently gone gaga for graceful gamines (calculate Audrey Hepburn) who be able to,0 go flatties. Maybe that’s because Madame Sarkozy, Carla Bruni, wears them so well? Don’t work, Manolo, the stiletto absences you!
G is for Gothic, because sulking, brooding and a charm with necrosis never go out of style. Fashion’s prince of gloom, Olivier Theyskens, masai shoes uk, inspired director at Nina Ricci, has submerged the house’s prestigious Lalique pigeon perfume decanter in black. Riccardo Tisci at Givenchy is piling on the gilt crosses. Christian Louboutin gothic black Gloss Pur lipstick ($34) has a waiting menu at Holt Renfrew (it arrives Monday).
H is for House, Home and Hearth. Canada’s decor-diva firmament has had an extreme makeover and the hip new regime is more approachable than aspirational. House & Home’s dynamo new redactor, Suzanne Dimma, dispenses stylish can-do weekend projects, while Style Christian Louboutin at Home devise director Samantha Pynn debuts her new show, Pure Design, on HGTV. And what ambition our lovely homes smell like this fall? The comfort of scalding wood. Burberry’s luxe new candle is smokey Wood Embers, Crabtree & Evelyn has launched a woodsy home fragrance range called Hearth and Banana Republic’s spicy Fireside will be a ubiquitous hostess present,0. We’re craving cozy.
I is for Indispensable Ina, my foodie girl-crush, behind with dissimilar for gals in a rush. Ina Garten’s Simply Barefoot Contessa on the Food Network Canada kicks off this month onward with a cookbook at the same name. She uses butter and sugar and isn’t terrified to see like she enjoys dining. Which brings us to …
J namely as Joan, like,0 in Joan Holloway, the steno-pool goddess with the trademark sashay on Mad Men. The Rubenesque bureau director’s curve-hugging dresses steal every scene, so it’s not surprise designers take their cues from MM wardrober Katherine Jane Bryant this season. Peter Som does peplums as,0 Michael Kors showcases streamlined ’60s Jackie sheaths beneath fur-trimmed tweed overcoats; Christian Louboutin even WonderBra pays tribute to voluptuous women with a current ad movement (label line "D apt G: Because we’re extra than a handful"). They’re cried wiggle clothes because a reason, boys — watch as perilous curves ahead.
K is for Kitchen, which is where the usual cheffy suspects are whipping up folksy and occasional comfort-food cookbooks: There’s a new Anna, Martha, Bonnie, Anita, Giada and Nigella — which reminds me of a tip for picking out cookbooks (it too applies to generate suppliers): Don’t confidence anybody name that doesn’t bring ... to an end a vowel.
L is for Leather Leggings and Lace. Lindsay Lohan’s quilted-knee leather leggings sold out in a daytime and Prada’s doily dresses are here to reside. Worn attach, they’re mischievous and fine.
M is for Minimalism, clothing pared down into seemingly simple sculptures to wear around town. In neutrals and blacks, they showcase designer dressmakers’ tricks: a seam here, a tuck there or an architectural fold; a slender dress from Andy The-Anh and from Aldo, a gathered and puckered grasp to embroider your hand.
N is for Noir, the new buzzword for black. It never left, so how come it’s back? Little dark dress, black trousers, black biker jacket in your wardrobe; stark black on white in the bedroom and the rest of the house. It’s also the trbring ... to an end fragrance names for dames: The Tom Ford Private Collection has no fewer than three fragrances dubbed noir. And don’t forget Paco Rabanne Black XS, Bulgari’s Jasmin Noir, Iris Noir and Creed Love In Black.
O is for Oxford, the shoes, locale and the style. First came sartorial spectacle Atonement, then Brideshead Revisited was revisited in July with a new feature film, populated with aristocratic men in 1930s country tweeds and wide-peak lapel jackets and circular collar shirts, worn as though to the manor nativity. Angelina comes later this month in the big Clint Eastwood film, wearing Changeling period costumes of rolled-collar chiffon, cocoon coats and cloches. In the meantime, Andre Benjamin, a. k. a. Outkast’s Andre 3000, has equitable launched his menswear line, Benjamin Bixby, and it’s all Oxbridge, all the time — dapper 1930s dandy, all woolly waistcoats, suspenders and effete cricket sweaters.
P is for the colour Purple, the colour pop of the season from episcopal violet to imperial plum (Michelle Obama power-dresses hers with pearls). Violet, aubergine, grape, prune and purple, component from Bobbi Brown, Clinique and M. A. C are the colour of mellow bruises, also. So pervasive is purple that wannabe fashion lifestyle brands Listerine and Vitaminwater have gone purple, too.
Q is for Quirky decor, because beige, taupe and tan are the trend no more. Nests are feathered with globe-trotting finds: flame-stitch linens, Ikat pillows, a Buddha and a seat from Tibet, all with a sense of venture and humour. Canadian designers such as Bustle and Izzy Camilleri were called to the blanket by Source UK, the Canadian design fixed, and built a trompe l’oeil steamer-trunk design rug and a bustier-shaped carpet respectively. But caution: There’s delightfully eclectic and there’s over-the-top abnormal. Thank God for Domino magazine’s new guidebook, Domino: The Book of Decorating, out next week.
R is for Restraint. Financial and sartorial. Budget shopping this annual manner fewer merely better items, not high street cheaper. Tighten those belts. Besides,Christian Louboutin deduct, a cinched waist is so right now.
S is for Seventies Swingtown style (and we don’t mean associate swapping). Colour-blocked and patchwork bags and shoes in gold, avocado, luggage and teal are popping up by Chie Mihara, D&G and Roots; there’s a refreshment of Bonnie Cashin’s flap bags at Coach, and crochet kerchiefs and haute hippie maxi dresses from Miss Sixty to Gucci.
T is for Teens, where we get our manner cues — particularly,0 Gossip Girl — from headbands to shoes. The small shade is a hotbed of co-eds. Back-stabbing queen bee Blair Waldorf knows retaliate is a tray best served often, and in heels. Palm Beach hosts Privileged billionaire dual heiresses in trashy outfits, and 90210’s new goody two-shoes favours casual SoCal separates. Candace Bushnell is rotating to teenage screenplay with The Carrie Bradshaw Diaries. Instead, all youth ought read Susan Juby’s latest, Getting the Girl, about an non-professional sleuth trying to prevent the hottest clique in educate from putting his gal pal on theD-list.
U is for Understated, someone jewellery most definitely should not be. Only supersized baubles apply. Statement pendants, gumball pearls, cocktail rings and extravagant cuffs, the bigger and bolder the better.
V as in Vampires and Victoriana– often, though not all, together. Prim but ######y Victorian lace-up booties by stylist Rachel Fanconi (for the Hush Puppies Guest Designer catena) and John Fluevog could have been worn by Holmesian adventuress Irene Adler. Rodarte’s snatched cobweb tights are out for blood and Bram Stoker’s beneficiary is ignited for a Dracula sequel. But while your angst-ridden niece is waiting for that, and the Stephenie Meyer mega-movie Twilight, slip her Ottawan Max Turner’s debut Night Runner, a vampire novel for teens.
W is for Winter florals, high Waists and Wide legs, three trends to try. Dark floral prints, like Giambattista Valli, Diane von Furstenberg and Thakoon’s large-scale jewel intonations blossom in autumn shades such as scarlet and magenta and are richer and moodier than warm-weather versions. Widelegged trousers a la Carole Lombard and Annie Hall tear a new silhouette: Wear them with heels, at a time they’re no too high.
X is for Xtreme footwear, fashion’s latest cruel and unusual discipline. They’re ugly! And they’re ridiculously lofty! Women around the globe are teetering on vertiginous contraptions slapped with bells, signals and other gewgaws inflicted on them by mad (alternatively drunk, or either) designers. The joke’s on us.
Y is for Christian Louboutin. RIP, Monsieur Saint Laurent. Z is for Zero, Zilch, Zip, because size zeroes still rule the runway and fashion spreads, vibram fivefingers kso trek women, and designers don’t seem to care. MTV’s upcoming Model Makers reality show will only make it aggravate. "Have you ever dreamed about being a model, but your heaviness has stopped you from reaching your dream? Then this is the show for you!" Z is also for Zoe, as in size-naught stylist Rachel. She should host, certainly.

MBT (Masai Barefoot Technology) was born in 1996 when we discovered that natural instability can have positive effects on the human body. We made this discovery by observing the wonderfully agile Masai people walking barefoot on natural, uneven ground. Seeing these people in action made us realize that the human body is simply not designed to walk or stand on the hard, flat surfaces of modern society. So we set out to develop a new kind of footwear, one that would mimic walking on soft, uneven ground. Tod's Group is an Italian company which produces shoes and other leather goods, and is presided over by businessman Diego Della Valle. It is most famous for its driving shoes.
