Cola is a favorite drink of local people, but the price of a tin of Cola has been almost quadrupled in a year and the price rise also has been doubled.
Lisa Yan who owns a small Chinese supermarket in Port Moresby was frightened when local people marched in front of her store last Wednesday air jordans heels, "More than a hundred protesters marched on the streets, yelling and shouting, even little kids were in the crowd."

PNG's Post-Courier newspaper reports Wednesday, since last weekend police have shot four men in attempts to stop the ongoing violence directed at Asian-run stores in the Highlands region.

Pan said Chinese people are recognized as hard-working in PNG, they start business early every morning and are willing to do any kinds of small and not-so-easy business. But local people said the Chinese has taken their job opportunities.
Yu Pan, Vice-president of Sino-PNG friendly association, told Xinhua via phone Tuesday night, such hostile sentiment of local people are targeted on Asia-run stores rather than merely Chinese stores.
Chinese worker in local Chinese enterprise told Xinhua under anonymous condition, some Chinese store owners were injured by protesters in last Wednesday's turmoil.
Bobi Chen, Chief of Goroka Sino-PNG friendly association, told Xinhua in a telephone interview Tuesday, "Goroka was a chaos in last Sunday's looting of Asia-run stores," he said, "Some trouble makers throw stones to shut-down Chinese stores and others broke in by force to loot foods."
The National newspaper in PNG said Tuesday all Asian shops at the main commercial center, West Goroka, main market nike tl, Lopi and Kama had remained closed following last Saturday evening's riots. Banks, post offices and service stations also remained shut.
PNG government has promised to safeguard life and property of local Chinese and police has been sent to patrol around Chinese stores in case of further looting by would-be looters on streets.
Fears of more rioting and looting continue in the Highland region with Mount Hagen in Western Highland Province closed by police, who have had to fire warning shots to disperse crowds.
"Some threatened to loot and others destroyed one or two Chinese business outlets as well as other stores owned by Korean and Indian people."
Xiaoliang Chao, Political counselor of Chinese Embassy to PNG, said Tuesday local police forces were sent to patrol in major areas in the capital while outer regions in PNG are currently running out of police forces.
School children and public servants were also sent home following reports of further trouble.
CANBERRA, May 20 (Xinhua) -- Anti-Asia sentiment in provinces outside Port Moresby continues to spread despite security in the capital is under control, said a Chinese diplomat in Papua New Guinea (PNG).
