Nearly everyone beat me to the latest batch of Bruce Pearl to the D-League rumors, this time to be the head coach of the Dallas Mavericks affiliated Texas Legends as first reported ESPN's Marc Stein. Since there isn't much else going on that's worth blogging about, however, I've decided to throw my two cents in as well. Pearl, last seen coaching the Tennessee Volunteers, was first <a href="http://www.jerseys-club.com/nbajerseydenvernuggets31nenehilariowhitejersey-p-3794.html"><strong>Nene Hilario jerseys</strong></a> linked to the NBA Development League as the replacement to Austin Ainge with the Maine Red Claws. Sources told Ridiculous Upside at the time, however, that Pearl had turned that job down in hopes of getting more money to become a television analyst -- a report CBS Sports' Jeff Goodman corroborates -- and Maine eventually settled on fellow college coach Dave Leitao. Why would Pearl join up with the Legends, then? Well, my guess is that being a part of a high-profile team like the Legends helps and Goodman reports that going to ESPN is "no <a href="http://www.jerseys-club.com/anaheimducks-c-341_344.html"><strong>Cheap Anaheim Ducks jersey</strong></a> longer a viable option." Plus, you know, the whole thing about getting in with the reigning NBA champs apparently doesn't hurt. "When the world champions call you have to listen," Pearl told ESPN's Andy Katz. "Mark Cuban and Donnie Nelson have been great and I'm looking forward to talking to them."
