Mercedes wins but Jaguar Land Rover surprises, coming in second. JOHANNESBURG - You can afford a Porsche. That&rsquo;s the message from Porsche SA marketing head Christo Kruger after the famous German marque cracked sales of more than 100 in October. He points out that Porsche has an image of unaffordability but the bottom-of-the-range Porsche Cayenne priced at R650&nbsp;000 is half the price of some of its rivals such as, Range Rover and the most expensive Toyota Land Cruiser. The Cayman and the Boxster are even cheaper at R600&nbsp;000 and R568&nbsp;000 respectively. Kruger said in its best month Porsche had achieved sales of 160. Because Porsches are all pre-ordered, sales performance depends a lot on when <a href="http://dvd-copy-dvd-clone-dvd-burn-dvd-backup.tomp4.com/index.html"><strong>compress DVD-9 type DVD movies to one DVD-5 disc</strong></a> shipments arrive. It would have been higher if we had reduced the threshold to R585&nbsp;000, as that would have included the Cayman and the Boxster.&nbsp; Mercedes Benz was unsurprisingly top of the expensive car pops. Another big surprise is that Jaguar Land Rover came in second, ahead of BMW. Land Rover&rsquo;s Discovery 4 was by far the top seller <a href="http://dvd-copy-dvd-clone-dvd-burn-dvd-backup.tomp4.com/index.html"><strong>copy DVD-5 type DVD movies to one DVD-9(Dual Layer) disc</strong></a> of all passenger cars above R650&nbsp;000, with 16% of the sample. It is the only SUV allowed to tow a horse box. Sacca was delighted with the Range Rover Evoque&rsquo;s first month&rsquo;s sales figure of more than 200. He said he had orders for 800 more. One dealer last weekend sold 180 Evoques. Sacca said Jaguar-Land Rover&rsquo;s partnership with Tata was working well. Tata boss Ratan Tata had personally made suggestions for the new-look Range Rover. The company will be bringing out at least one new model a year. The next generation Range Rover and a completely redesigned Defender are in development. RGT analyst Andrew Hibbert observes: &ldquo;South Africans&rsquo; preference for SUVs is underlined in that this type of vehicle accounts for 70% of sales in the sample. Eight of the top ten cars above R650&nbsp;000 are four-by-fours. Mercedes C and E Classes and BMW&rsquo;s 3 series are the only non-SUVs that feature in this survey. &ldquo; Had we made the threshold lower, say R500&nbsp;000, the market shares would have looked different, as the popular Toyota Fortuner, the Jeep and Mitsubishi ranges and Porsche&rsquo;s Cayman and Boxster would have been in the running. &nbsp;
