His phone could ring more than ten times in those minutes. Nigerians, young and old, highly and lowly placed, ex-internationals, coaches call from all over the world to tell him a few things. It's not all about congratulations. There are those who are already telling him how to work. They have started coaching the coach. But they all mean well and the new Eagles coach understands. "You should have about three teams – one full of foreign-based, and the rest two being local players one of which could be a feeder team comprising young players where age grade teams can draw players from. The idea is that you monitor youth teams too because you will be getting genuine young players from there. There must be link from junior teams to the senior team. There are many other things you have to do. For now, I wish you well. You deserve the appointment and we all want you to give it your best. We will support you." These were the words of former Abia State governor, Orji Uzor Kalu who called from Congo and recalled that he asked the authorities to appoint Stephen Keshi Technical Adviser to Samson Siasia before the job was handed over to Siasia. Kalu also spoke with this Reporter after a long chat with Keshi.Â* As governor Kalu made Enyimba Africa's champions two times. He showed class in turning his team into winners. His was one of the numerous calls besieging Keshi since ralph lauren shop he was appointed Eagles new helmsman last week.Â* Former NFA chairman, Kojo Williams called to insist that Keshi must appoint a foreign fitness trainer if he had already chosen Nigerians as his assistants. There have been callers who even delved into technical areas of coaching. Keshi has turned a good listener. He is also taking notes of the points. Sani Toro, Ibrahim Galadima, Abdulraman Abdulrazaq are among those who have wished Keshi well.Â* His phone never ceases to ring. He would certainly need a Personal Assistant when he resumes work fully. Two times, calls came from Togo in the past three days.Â* Togo wanted him but delayed their call and only renewed it when they heard that he was likely to get the Nigerian job. Keshi pleaded with them to see with him as he has returned home. Players are also calling to pledge their loyalty and interest in the national team.Â* Among them were those who had not played for the country in the recent past. KeshiÂ* always thanked them for their support and told them to work hard at their clubs, assuring them that "good performance in your clubs will always be the yardstick for invitation ralph lauren bikinis to the national team and many of you will all be given a chance at one time or the other to play for Eagles again. But you must work hard."
