Hip-hop maker 9TH WONDER is heading back to educate - he's set to instruct a class above African-American Studies.
The acclaimed beatmaker, who has produced hits for the likes of Jay-Z, Mary J. Blige, Nas and Destiny's Child, will connect Professor Mark Anthony Neal at Duke University in his native North Carolina to school students on music from the Civil Rights and Black Power actions.
And the star, real name Patrick Douthit, is excited to school youths on music history in the segment, titled Sampling Soul.
He says, "The class is studying marrow music from the 60s, 70s, and 80s, the neighbourhoods it came out of and where was the affect because this song to bring an end to ... of.
"I’m excited male, it’s a new frontier for me. I’m all incited for fashionable frontiers."
It's no 9th Wonder's first time for a spokesman - he previously taught a Hip-Hop History class at his alma mater, North Carolina Central University.
