MLB FanHouse Roundtable: Which Rotation Has the Best 1-2 Punch?
With Rich Harden joining Carlos Zambrano in Chicago and the Brewers adding CC Sabathia to Ben Sheets, suddenly the NL Central has two starting rotations with two impressive 1-2 punches. This p.m., the MLB FanHousers sat down and had an outdated round-table discussion about how the two fashionable heavyweight rotations pile up with the other altitude pairings in baseball.
Pat Lackey: With the increase of Rich Harden to the Cubs and CC Sabathia to the Brewers, who's got the best 1-2 rotation punch in baseball? We can talk both league, but I think the AL's hard pressed to mate what the Diamondbacks, news about mbt shoes, Brewers, and Cubs must offer right now.
Will Brinson: I'm catching the D-backs because I think Brandon Webb ambition come back to someone resembling his early season fashion and I honestly don't think Haren has gotten hot yet.
Tom Fornelli: Gavin Floyd and John Danks!
/homerism

The AL's not completely bare, but it is a lot weaker that's for sure. That being said, it still has some good 1-2 punches.
Josh Beckett and Daisuke Matsuzaka in Boston
Joe Saunders, Ervin Santana, and John Lackey are a very nice 1-2-3combo in LA
Roy Halladay and Shaun Marcum look good in Toronto.
And Danks and Floyd do give the White Sox some cause to be excited in the future, all homerism aside.

That said, with Johan Santana,Kids Tory Burch Flats clearance, Dan Haren, Sabathia, and immediately Harden all joining the NL in the last year, the AL has gotten considerably weaker.
Craig Calcaterra: Scott Kazmir and James Shields and/or Matt Garza (though there is admittedly some dropoff from one to two).
Josh Alper: For the short term, I don't think any team is better set in the 1-2 punch department than the Brewers. Sabathia and Sheets have been two of the better pitchers in baseball of late and, with free agent in their sights, figure to close very strong. I wouldn't take them over Webb and Haren for the afterward three years because of health cares but I'd bank on them for the next 3 months,Chicago Bears Jerseys, especially with an offense that should keep stress off their weapon.

The AL is a little light on the 1-2 punches but they've got deeper rotations along the embark. The Sox, Angels, Rays and Jays all have amazing depth. And future-wise, the Yankees, White Sox and maybe the Tigers and Twins should be in the same category.
Eamonn Brennan: Kazmir/Shields/Price. God,mbt moja white, that's macabre.
Mullet: And I'm kinda with Josh on the whole 1-2 punch ... If Arizona would get any arrange of aggressive aid, it would be them in a landslide. But Sabathia and Sheets have the support to win games where they're a bit wild, for Sabathia was last night.
Pat: Agree on the Rays for the future. I'm not sure who's the No. 2 between Shields or Garza (Garza's been dominant since he got behind from the DL), but with those three and David Price, male, how did everyone just sit there when the Rays stacked all this talent up?

In the NL, I agree with Josh that CC and Sheets make the best duo right now. Carlos Zambrano's a bit down this year and Harden's almost entirely unreliable. Throw in the AL to NL ingredient (I don't care what a half season of numbers mention, I still think the AL hitters are a lot better) and I wouldn't be startled of CC got a few NL Cy Young votes when it's all said and done this year. Webb and Haren are one interesting duo because Webb can be so dominant, but I'm not sold on how well Haren's switch from the Coliseum in Oakland to the BOB in Phoenix is going to work out for him. I'd admit that they're the duo for the future, particularly if guys like Steven Drew and Justin Upton figure out how to hit consistently behind them.
Andrew Johnson: I like Webb and Haren better than anybody additional one equitable for I understand either are extremely durable (Ben Sheets, c'mon), and because I love Webb's fusion of a massive sinker, great control and solid strikeout rate.

I don't think you should sell the AL short, though.

Lackey-Santana
Beckett-Jon Lester (or Dice-K) ... I'd take Lester at this point
Shields-Kazmir

Those are great duos.

And let's memorize these guys do it in the tougher association. I consider portion of the problem with the AL is a lot of the staffs are truly deep that it really becomes kind of hard to pick a No. 2 backward the ace. You could alternate out Shields for Garza, Lester for Dice-K or even Clay Buchholz down the line, Ervin Santana for Joe Saunders, even Burnett, nfl jersey cheap, while he is right, for Marcum in Toronto. So maybe the AL doesn't have the great 1-2 punches, merely when I think of the best rotations in baseball virtually all of them reside in the American League.
Eamonn: Speaking of Fornelli's homerism, why are you guys slumbering on Dempster-Marquis?
Pat: Actually, Ryan Dempster's been crazy good this year. I just placarded that today and was kind of blown away along it. You could probably debate that he's been better than Z has this season.
Eamonn: Yeah, I probably should have used Lilly-Marquis for accent, as Dempster has actually been colossal this year. I'm prepared for him to breakdown, but it's been fun while it lasted.
Tom: Yeah, but merely at Wrigley. He hasnt won a game on the road.
Pat: You're right about the AL rotations creature deeper, Andrew, but when you're looking at two guys to start 4 games in a best-of-seven, I think the NL comes out forward.
Of way, the playoffs are a whole another ballpark. The an answer that human (myself comprised) haven't been asking approximately Sabathia namely how well he's going apt hold up down the stretch. He came unglued in the playoffs final annual and maybe spend the Indians the ALCS against the Red Sox. What good is a 1-2 punch whether it stops punching in the the playoffs?
Andrew: Sabathia's innings calculate was obscene last year. Milwaukee just needs to keep him from going past 210 or 215 innings and I think he'll be better.
Eamonn: Yeah, Sabathia's a decent nominee to wreck down this year, too. That's what frightened me about the Cubs trading for him ... and then they corner around and commerce for Rich Harden, who is 1 bajilliin due times worse.

PENNY LANCASTER is celebrating after Rod Stewart's divorce from Rachel Hunter became final this month – seven years after they split. Hunter left the 61-year-old singer in January 1999 after eight years of marriage and two children: Renee, now 13, and 11-year-old Liam. Lancaster, who agreed to marry Stewart when he proposed to her in March last year and gave birth to his seventh child, Alastair, air max, in November, has denied that the divorce means they will rush to get married, however. "Even though we've been together for years, the divorce means we can finally put the past behind us," she said. "We didn't realise Alastair would come along so quickly, so the wedding plans are on the backburner. We're going to be together forever, so we'll get round to it sometime – maybe before the next baby." (April 24 2006, AM)

Atmos x K-Swiss Si-18 Rannell “Elephant”
We’ve seen nearly every company in the game bring some sort of elephant print knock off to the table. In this effort, K-Swiss is venturing quite a ways from the white on white that has been their staple. The Atmos x K-Swiss Si-18 Rannell is their latest collab with Atmos of Japan.
The Rannell Si-18 is a pretty comfy shoe, and a simple silhouette for those who like running shoes. The colorway is nice with the grey/red/white combo. I’m not sure I can say I like it, but it is unique, especially for K-Swiss. There is a lot of attention to detail, prince exo3, as is typical for Atmos collaborations. The laces have Atmos in gold on the tips. The gold accents on the heel and lace stays look pretty good. I think it is a little too much of the elephant print personally. What do you think?
Take a look at the detailed shots after the jump and let us know what you think. Via Atmos/SneakerObsession. You can get these at UBIQ for $140.
